PARIS, February 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Neteven, the European marketplace management solution, raises €3.6 million in capital and announces the opening of its UK and German offices. Objective: accelerate expansion across Europe.
Raising capital to expand Neteven's local presence across key European markets
Neteven, a specialist in helping online retailers grow their cross-border marketplace business, has been a profitable company since 2011, allowing it to commence European expansion. To cope with the fast growth of ecommerce, Neteven decided to raise capital in order to enhance local sales teams in core European markets, cementing its European leadership in marketplace management.
To finance the expansion, Neteven has closed investment of €3.6 million with a group of investors and advisors led by ERMAK, Supremum Capital, the founders of Ogone and Concentric.
"Over the past three years, Neteven has been signing up merchants outside of France. With good results and successful proof of concept in the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy, it was time for us to accelerate our growth by opening local offices. Thanks to our excellent market position and financial health, we were able to attract several sources of funding. We are proud to be accompanied by investors who have both expertise in our domain and an international network. Our historical investor, A Plus Finance, remains alongside us for this new step in Neteven's history," explains Greg Zemor, co-founder and CEO of Neteven.
International since 2011
For over eight years, Neteven has been the preferred partner of brands, retailers and marketplaces in France. Since 2011, the leading European marketplaces have been integrated into Neteven's solution in order to provide its clients with access to a broader range of online customers. The pan-European extensions of eBay, Amazon, Fnac, Pixmania and Rakuten have been added to existing sales channels. The biggest local marketplaces have also been integrated: Otto, Zalando, Atosho and others.
Neteven's software and product catalogue is available in five languages. Partnerships have been founded with the key sector players in each country, and a Paris-based sales team with native speakers is already recruiting retailers across the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Neteven's unique pan-European market position that allows retailers to distribute products from any country to every major market has been extremely successful. Today, over 20% of company's revenue is generated by sales outside of France.
Greg Zemor adds: "We strongly believe in a "global" strategy - a global technical solution attuned to local specifics. Each country has a different approach to ecommerce. Through working for the past three years with UK, German, Italian and Spanish brands and e-tailers, we have gained expertise and built a strong network. Our value proposition as a cross-border trade platform focused on the marketplaces is of great value to our clients, software companies, logistics providers, and marketplaces in each of our core regions. To move forward, it was inevitable that Neteven should have a physical presence in these regions. This is the strategic choice we have made in order to become the European leader in the marketplace space."
Thanks to its exclusive focus on marketplaces as distribution channels, Neteven has gained a competitive advantage in terms of functionalities and market expertise. R&D is done internally so the technical team can deeply integrate each marketplace into Neteven's platform and address their specifics. The sales team, made up of ex-marketplace and distributor employees, has a unique knowledge of the distribution chain. Large enterprises can rely on the state-of-the-art technology and in-house industry experts to grow their sales.
Created in 2005 by Stephane Brault, CTO, Antoine Riviere, Sales Director, and Greg Zemor from eBay, Marketing Director, Neteven represents:

"We have gained the confidence of large enterprises and key marketplaces in Europe thanks to our focus on distribution projects," explains Greg Zemor. "We have proven ourselves successful in mature and competitive markets such as the UK and Germany and are planning to significantly increase our market share. The international vision we had from day one is showing great results and even greater potential. We are now positioned as the unique pan-European marketplace solution providing access to the widest range of buyers. Investment of the capital we have raised, opening local offices and launching new marketplaces globally will keep us busy in 2014."
