Creative Computing Solutions, Inc. (CCSi) is honored to recognize the My HealtheVet’s (MHV) Program’s 10th anniversary and to have played an important role in attaining this milestone. A celebration held in November 2013 at the Veterans Administration (VA) Central Office in Washington D.C., commemorated MHV’s success in providing online access to health records and other health information for our veterans.
The award-winning MHV program has helped make the VA a leader in the delivery of Personal Health Records (PHRs). The web portal offers veterans the opportunity to engage in secure messaging with providers, manage their appointments, prescription refills, lab reports and track their overall health and wellness through self-entered information such as blood pressure, heart rate, and over-the-counter medications. All of these features help veterans, active duty service members, their dependents and caregivers successfully manage their health. The program has been a driving force behind the Blue Button initiative, which CCSi also supported, that has grown to be the symbol for patient access to personal health information in a safe digital format. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, more than 80 million Americans have downloaded their health information through Blue Button.
“CCSi is honored to have supported My HealtheVet at an enterprise, infrastructure design, security, business and client service levels continuously since September 2005 and to continue to support this vital service to our Veterans,” said Maggie Bauer, Senior Vice President of Health Services at CCSi. “This tool has transformed how patients access and use their health and wellness data to interact in new ways with their care providers and manage their own health.”
CCSi has played an instrumental role in the national rollout of both the original MHV program and new functionality, with an emphasis on the integration of clinical adoption and business and clinical workflow processes. CCSi’s work on the MHV program reaches all levels of stakeholders, from providing preparation training for clinical staff, to conducting groundwork focus groups and interviews of provider populations, to creating and implementing outreach campaigns. CCSi’s expertise fosters innovation and performance improvements throughout the MHV program, continually improving the system for our veterans and their families.
