Voxofon Expands Interaction with Newest iOS App Enhancements

Users can now share photos, videos, voice messages and location

Need to send a text message but typing is not an option? The newest iOS update from Voxofon (, a rapidly growing provider of mobile apps utilizing over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging services, lets users send short voice memos instead of texts. Voice memos are just one of several enhancements in Voxofon version 5.5 for iOS devices, available immediately through the Apple App Store.

"This latest version brings a whole new level of interactive experiences by adding the capability to share pictures, video, voice memos and even location over SMS," said Alexey Goloshubin. "Sending short voice memos instead of texts have become increasingly popular as typing may be onerous or cumbersome in certain situations, or for certain people or in certain languages. The ability to send short voice memos makes it even easier to keep in touch with friends or family without text-enabled phones or with those who type in languages such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Arabic."

Additionally, Voxofon users can now send pictures, video clips and location information to their contacts, even if they don't have a smartphone. For users without a messaging plan, unlimited messages with attachments can be sent for free between Voxofon users. For as low as one cent per message, users can send these messages to any phone capable of receiving SMS texts, even feature phones. Feature phone users can view the pictures or videos through their mobile or desktop browser and reply by using the web interface on

"Voxofon's goal is to bring global communities together by developing fun, engaging mobile apps that help friends and family easily communicate, interact and share their lives," said Julia Goloshubin, vice president of products.

The recent recognition as one of the fastest growing technology companies in Houston by the Houston Business Journal suggests Voxofon is on the right track, achieving revenue growth of 167 percent from 2010 to 2012. The company offers free app-to-app texts and calls across any iOS, Android, Windows, or Blackberry device and provides inexpensive international calling and SMS messaging to any phone number. No other OTT provider matches Voxofon's cross-platform capabilities, broad range of functionality or exceptional user experience.
