magicJack Appoints Scott Venuti Vice President of Sales and Distribution

magicJack VocalTec, Ltd (Nasdaq:CALL), a leading cloud-based communications company, today added to its new executive management team by appointing Scott Venuti vice president of sales and distribution. An accomplished sales veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and internet industries, Venuti will lead the sales and business development efforts to support expanded distribution for the refreshed magicJack brand. Venuti will report to Timothy McDonald, chief operating officer (COO).

Venuti previously led the wholesale account team at Clearwire where he worked with partners like Sprint, Time Warner Cable and Comcast to grow market share and was responsible for over $480M in annual revenue. Prior to joining the wholesale team, he served as director of channel sales and operations for the CLEAR retail brand. His team was responsible for all business development, negotiations, on-boarding and ongoing sales/marketing, operations and tactical initiatives for the national retail channel, which included developing partnerships with Best Buy, RadioShack and Fry’s Electronics.

Before Clearwire, Venuti worked at Sprint where he held various sales and channel management roles at both regional and national levels.
