DogVacay Grows Executive Team with New SVP Marketing and SVP Product Hires

DogVacay (www.DogVacay.com), the leading online and mobile community that has more than 10,000 vetted and insured dog sitters across the country ready to care for your dog like a member of their family, today announced that it has grown its executive team with new hires Kerry Bennett as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Jeanne Anderson as Senior Vice President of Product. This expanded executive team will help DogVacay continue its rapid growth while bringing new expertise to further the development of the company’s overall innovation and community.

As the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Bennett will lead all marketing and branding initiatives for DogVacay. Bennett brings a wealth of experience in consumer marketing, most recently as the SVP of Marketing for HauteLook, a leading flash-sale e-commerce site owned by Nordstrom. While at HauteLook, she oversaw all marketing, including advertising and promotions, customer acquisition, marketing communication, relationship marketing, and brand/creative and helped grow the company from early stage through acquisition to a base of more than 16 million members across web, mobile and social platforms.

Anderson has an impressive track record in working with two-sided marketplaces. As Senior Vice President of Product, she will oversee the development and implementation of DogVacay’s technology both for hosts and pet owners. Most recently, she was VP of Product Management at Futuredontics, where she led all web product management for 1-800-DENTIST.com. During her time at Futuredontics, she rolled out three web products (Patient Activator, WebDirector, and Reputation Monitor), which took the company from a single lead product company to a multi-product marketing services business. Before Futuredontics, she served in senior product roles at other two-sided marketplaces including NetQuote, Apartments.com and FTD, Inc.

“From day one, the DogVacay team has focused on creating an amazing experience for our guests, hosts and dogs,” said Aaron Hirschhorn, co-founder and Top Dog of DogVacay. “Kerry’s expertise in building strong, authentic consumer brands and Jeanne’s deep experience with two-sided marketplaces will add invaluable leadership as we continue to enhance how we serve our community. We’re thrilled to welcome these talented women to our pack.”

How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...
