Kable's survey data indicates that 51% of Chinese enterprises prefer to procure technology directly from suppliers, followed by through local resellers and national resellers.

In a highly competitive business environment like China, customer satisfaction has a direct impact on enterprise revenues, and is one of the key requirements to ensure competitiveness in the market. Therefore, the objective of increasing customer satisfaction is rated X on the scale of 1 to 4.

IT certainly plays a major role in the formulation of Chinese enterprises' business strategies and is vital for effective operational management, as is evident from the survey with the majority of Chinese enterprises stating that the motive behind their IT investments is to better demonstrate the value of IT to their business.

Vendors offering certainty that they will be in place to provide support and maintenance relating to their technologies in the future are also preferred in China. Therefore, financial stability is assigned an average ratings of X.

The survey reveals that 39% of respondents are using a reasonably standards-based ICT infrastructure (with most of the ICT environment being standards based), whilst very few enterprises, as few as 6% of the respondents, state that their ICT infrastructure is entirely standards based, where a small number of interoperable vendor solutions are used.
