Fair to Feature more than 760 Exhibitors and Some 120 Events
Hong Kong, Feb 10, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - More than 760 exhibitors will take part in the 24th HKTDC Education & Careers Expo, which opens on 13 February and continues through 16 February at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The exhibitors, from 18 countries and regions, represent educational institutions, professional associations, government departments, public organisations and companies.
Spotlight on Careers
The expo is open to the public, with admission free. Two main zones, Education and Careers, will be featured, along with four career theme days: Banking & Finance Day (13 February); Building and Construction Day (14 February); Aviation Day (15 February); and Catering & Hospitality Day (16 February). Each theme day will present a variety of career seminars.
In all, about 120 events, ranging from seminars, workshops and trial tutorial classes to celebrity sessions, will take place over the expo's four days.
A variety of companies will collect job applications at the fairground. These include the AMTD Group Company Ltd, BOC Group Life Assurance Company Ltd, Centaline Property Agency Ltd, PCCW Services Ltd, Prudential Hong Kong Ltd and Regal Hotels International Ltd.
In addition, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) have arranged for a number of companies to recruit employees at the HKFYG booth. These include the Ocean Park Corporation, the Kowloon Motor Bus Co (1933) Ltd, Sa Sa Cosmetic Co Ltd, LF Logistics (Hong Kong) Ltd, the Popular Book Company Ltd and Parsons Music Corporation.
Professional bodies taking part will include the Construction Industry Council, the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the Hong Kong Institute of Technology, the Hong Kong Maritime Industry Council and the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute.
Hong Kong Government departments participating will include the Customs and Excise Department, Correctional Services, the Fire Services Department, Hong Kong Police Force, Immigration Department and Marine Department.
Theme days have also been organised for the global education sector. These will spotlight the Chinese mainland (13 February), the United States (14 February), Europe (15 February) and Australia (16 February).
Study and Work Abroad
Representatives of the Australian Consulate-General, Austrian Trade Commission, British Council, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong, Consulate-General of Japan, and the New Zealand Consulate-General will present seminars on school admission procedures, preparation for studying overseas, campus life, study culture and working holidays in their respective regions.
