Vacatia and Make-A-Wish(R) Send Family on Dream Vacation to Hawaii

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/11/14 -- Vacatia (www.vacatia.com), the new, trusted online marketplace for buyers and sellers of vacation ownership interests, today announced that they have once again partnered with the Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area Chapter to grant a child's wish with a dream vacation. Vacatia provided deluxe accommodations and other arrangements for Alec and his family in Kauai, Hawaii. Make-A-Wish focuses on granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

"Vacatia is pleased to continue our relationship with Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and help Alec and his family experience their dream vacation," said Vacatia Director of Marketing, Nicole Reitter. "Granting these children's wishes and giving them special, memorable getaways is such an honor, and we're looking forward to continuing this relationship."

Alec, age 13, is an all-star golfer who wished to play on one of the world's most beautiful, tropical courses. Vacatia and Make-A-Wish teamed up to send him, his parents, two brothers and sister to Kauai, Hawaii where they stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort. This large family of six appreciated having a comfortable, condo-like setting with a full kitchen for making home-cooked meals, spacious living area for cherished down time together and private bedrooms -- all within walking distance to a pristine beach. The group enjoyed snorkeling, zip-lining and their first Hawaiian luau. Alec tried his hand at surfing, plus he and his Dad played two rounds of golf on the renowned Princeville Golf Course. Vacatia also surprised Alec with an indoor putting green in his room, helping the golf-enthusiast to perfect his short game.

"Being able to do something that is pure beauty, relaxation and fun, unrelated to treatment or the hospital, was a joyous and meaningful experience for our entire family, and mostly to Alec," said Susanne, Alec's mother. "The best part of the trip for our family was to really spend quality time together in the most gorgeous setting on earth, and to watch Alec finally happy and relaxed after everything that he has been through. For Make-A-Wish and Vacatia to reach out and touch Alec's life this way is incredibly powerful, and we will be forever grateful for this experience."

"Vacatia is a first class partner that offers our wish families a first class experience. They understand that for these families, this trip is not just a much needed vacation, it's often the turning point in the child's recovery. Vacatia is truly our partner in giving these children the respite from battling a life-threatening medical condition they deserve," said Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area executive director Patricia Wilson.
