Fathom's Matt Fieldman Named Fundraising Professional of Year by FundRaising Success Magazine

On February 1, 2014, Fieldman was named "Fundraising Professional of the Year" by FundRaising Success Magazine, the equivalent of winning an Oscar in the fundraising world. 

Fieldman was honored for his work raising more than $422,000 in nine month for EDWINS, a full-scale fine-dining restaurant dedicated to helping ex-offenders get their lives back on track that opened in November.  According to EDWINS' founder and CEO Brandon Chrostowski, it was Matt's daring and unconventional leadership as EDWINS' board president that made his dream a reality.

Fieldman's 13 years of experience in the non-profit world helped him clarify and execute on the vision of creating a social enterprise that would not have to rely on fundraising to make ends meet.  The success of EDWINS is an example to other social enterprises and proof of the feasibility of this model when properly planned and implemented.  His innovative approach and fundraising success led to this honor.

Fieldman's leadership also helps Fathom itself live its purpose directly: In 2012, he created and led the Fathom Gives Program (FGP).  In its first year, FGP generated $33,000 of giving in the form of cash donations and sponsorships, employee matches, pro-bono work and volunteerism. He designed the program to inspire Fathomers to experience and expand their giving, improve group engagement, and positively impact the community with donations and volunteer time.  In its second year, the program grew to $149,000 in 2013.
