New Mobile App Delivers Access to Everyday-Use “Small Data”

Inome Inc., dba Intelius, a leading provider of on-demand information about individuals and their connections to other people, places and things has launched a new mobile app that makes it easier than ever to access the information people need to make important everyday decisions.

The new app, which is now available on iTunes and Google Play, provides smartphone users with a faster and easier way to immediately find and connect with people. By simply entering the name, phone or email of the person being searched, the app uses proprietary technology to access billions of records and produce a tightly-focused personal profile that includes names, aliases, phone numbers, emails, home address and other useful information such as relatives, employment history, and schools attended.

“Whether you’re trying to track down an old friend or business acquaintance or even a single person being set-up on a date, the ability to locate and access information on people is increasingly important,” said Prakash Kondepudi, Intelius’ President of Consumer Services. “For the past 10 years we’ve provided customers with these tools à la carte via the desktop. Our newly released mobile app extends our ability to serve customers on-the-go when and wherever they need us. Our premium service also allows for access to an unlimited amount of searches on more search parameters than ever before.”

The new app is free for anyone to use for the first two days. After that, individual profiles which can include name and aliases, address history, phone numbers, relatives, work and education history can be accessed for $.99. Unlimited usage of the app is available for $9.99 per month.

Intelius has seen encouraging rates of engagement by more than 70,000 users who tried the app during a beta period. Each time the app was downloaded, an average of seven searches was performed. The app allows searches by name, email or phone number. Stats during the beta period indicate that, by a 3-1 ratio, users are finding the search-by-number features the most useful.

The service also delivers an enhanced caller ID function that can display the names of incoming callers even if they’re not already listed in the personal directory or contacts of the person being called.

“In the past, we’ve all had to guess who was behind an unfamiliar number and if it was worth taking the call,” said Kondepudi. “Our product reveals who’s calling and other details that can help establish what the call might be about. For example, even if the name is not familiar, knowing the caller’s place of employment may help the person being called to connect the dots and determine whether to take the call now or let it go to voicemail.”

Over the past few years, an increasing number of larger businesses have leveraged big data – large and complex data sets that can be connected to help businesses better understand their current and potential customers – but this type of actionable intelligence has been out of the reach of consumers seeking more targeted data.

DevOps is about increasing efficiency, but nothing is more inefficient than building the same application twice. However, this is a routine occurrence with enterprise applications that need both a rich desktop web interface and strong mobile support. With recent technological advances from Isomorphic Software and others, it is now feasible to create a rich desktop and tuned mobile experience with a single codebase, without compromising performance or usability.
Thanks to Docker, it becomes very easy to leverage containers to build, ship, and run any Linux application on any kind of infrastructure. Docker is particularly helpful for microservice architectures because their successful implementation relies on a fast, efficient deployment mechanism – which is precisely one of the features of Docker. Microservice architectures are therefore becoming more popular, and are increasingly seen as an interesting option even for smaller projects, instead of bein...
