TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 02/16/14 -- Car Seat Safety clinics held by Ontario's Ministry of Transportation have found that as many as 80 per cent of car seats are improperly installed, putting Canadian children's lives at risk. Being a new parent can be filled with uncertainty, but knowing your child's car seat is installed correctly is a peace of mind every parent should have.
Chevrolet Canada is partnering with Parachute, a Canadian charity dedicated to preventing injuries and saving lives, to launch its new Chevrolet Safe & Sure Car Seat Installation Workshop program to help educate parents and caregivers with hands-on instructions on car seat safety. The program offers free one-on-one workshops with a certified car seat technician who will teach families and caregivers how to use and install car seats so children are safe for every ride. This is the fest step towards ensuring passenger safety right into adulthood.
Workshops will be hosted at Chevrolet dealerships in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal and are open to all vehicle makes.
Chevrolet is inviting media to attend a live demonstration of the workshop to launch the program, together with Parachute President & CEO, Louise Logan, who will be discussing the importance of car seat safety and injury prevention.
