EAST MEADOW, N.Y., Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., and its partner Switzerland Tourism joined forces together to ensure a flawless Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2014 photo shoot in Switzerland last summer. SI Swimsuit 2014 launched today.
From make-up artists to hairstylists, to camera bags and tripods, SWISS ensured that the entire production crew and models arrived on time refreshed to start the shoot that took place in part in the Lake Geneva and Matterhorn region of Switzerland in August.
"We are pleased to have had the opportunity to work with our partner Switzerland Tourism, and the SI Swimsuit team on one of the world's most recognized magazine issues," said SWISS USA Senior Director of Sales Annette Reantragoon.
As the national carrier of Switzerland, SWISS offers three-classes of service to Switzerland from Boston, Chicago, Newark, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco. For this Swiss shoot, the SI Swimsuit team flew from the east and west coasts to the final destination of Geneva where they were met, and organized to begin their journey with Switzerland Tourism representatives.
"Working with such an experienced production team was a pleasure," said NY-based SWISS' Lisa Faiella who handled the booking process. "We understand the importance of tight schedules faced by production teams, luggage and equipment requirements, and the special needs of such a team especially the confidentiality of keeping the destination a surprise until the launch," said Ms. Faiella. "Details are critical and at SWISS something we take great pride in when it comes to delivering quality service."
Quality service whether it's lie flat seats in Swiss First or Swiss Business, or whether flying in Swiss Economy, passengers are made to feel comfortable throughout their entire journey. The SI Swimsuit team flew SWISS Business and SWISS Economy in August, a busy time of year with passengers taking holidays which presented a challenge with bookings. In SWISS Business, once onboard and after all the baggage was checked-in, a welcome drink of champagne, orange juice and /or water were served. Spacious surrounds helped the team organize their personal items for the night, before they settled into their seats complete with personalized comfort controls including a massage function. During the flight, options were presented for early dining, or partaking in a gourmet dinner complete with a list of fine wines. Such a tantalizing culinary offer is tough to pass up especially since SWISS's prestigious Mercury Award-winning cuisine is designed by Swiss chefs whose careful creations represent tempting vegetarian delicacies as well as meat, fish and pasta options.
Following dinner, the team settled in with a multitude of entertainment options or at the push of a button converted their seat into a fully lie flat bed measuring more than six feet long. For those who flew in SWISS Economy, the choices continued with meals as well as a personal entertainment system offering a multitude of music programs, current Hollywood blockbusters, TV series and documentaries. Prior to arrival in Switzerland the next morning, the next temptation of creamy yogurt, fruit, fresh breads and jam served onboard was hard to pass up.
Overall reports were that the team arrived refreshed and camera ready. Taking great care and providing undivided attention to passengers with renowned Swiss hospitality is what sets SWISS apart from other airlines. All the ingredients for the relaxing start to the long days that followed once the shoot got underway.
