The 45-minute session focused on: the P5+1 negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program; Israeli-Palestinian peace talks; the nearly three-year war in Syria; rising anti-Semitism; and Franco-American relations.

"Once again, we appreciated the Minister's warm welcome and his impressive analysis of critical global security challenges," said AJC Executive Director David Harris. The foreign minister and AJC have met frequently, including in September during the opening session of the UN General Assembly session.

"AJC's relations with France are of the highest priority, long-standing, deep, and cooperative," Harris added. "We especially appreciate the firm stance adopted by France regarding the interim deal reached with Iran, and the government's uncompromising opposition to manifestations of anti-Semitism in the country."

Simone Rodan-Benzaquen, director of AJC Paris, also attended the meeting. She noted: "As a pillar of the European Union, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, a major actor in the Middle East and North Africa, and home to the largest Jewish community in Europe, France has long been of the utmost importance to AJC."
