Trusted Positioning Launches Enhanced Indoor Location Software at MWC 2014

The First Navigation Software to Optimize Location Using Connected Mobile and Wearable Devices

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/21/14 -- Trusted Positioning announced today at Mobile World Congress 2014 the launch of T-PN ME, the first navigation software to use motion sensor data from multiple mobile/wearable devices to more accurately locate a person indoors. The software collects movement information from the user's phone, tablet, watch, wearable or glasses simultaneously to better position how a person is walking or driving when GPS is unavailable in places such as shopping centers, airports or urban centres.

"Most phones, tablets, and watches in production contain motion sensors," explains Chris Goodall, Trusted Positioning CEO, "By understanding how a person carries their phone along with how their smartwatch swings on their wrist we are given a clearer picture of how the user is moving as a whole; and therefore, their position in a building or driving through a tunnel. T-PN ME is about the user and getting them the best indoor position."

The T-PN ME is the multi-device extension of the Trusted Portable Navigator (T-PN) product line. The T-PN is mobile embedded software for location both indoors and outdoors. Available for any operating system, this technology allows mobile users to navigate both outdoors and indoors, regardless of GPS availability. With no additional hardware or infrastructure required, this navigation technology provides a location experience that is accurate, affordable, and continuous in any environment. The T-PN was launched in August 2013 and can be expected to appear on new smartphones this year. The T-PN ME product is now available for integration on new connected products.

About Trusted Positioning

Trusted Positioning is a Calgary-based indoor/outdoor positioning software company with a vision to provide "positioning everywhere". A spin-off from the Department of Geomatics Engineering at the University of Calgary, the company was founded in 2009 by globally recognized experts in the fields of inertial navigation, multi-sensor systems and Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology.

Trusted Positioning provides indoor location in areas where wireless systems, such as GPS and Wi-Fi alone, are unavailable or inaccurate. Using pre-existing sensors in smartphones, Trusted Positioning's software integrates the sensor signals with wireless systems to enable continuous and accurate positioning.
