Invesco PowerShares Announces a Special Dividend for PowerShares QQQ

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 02/21/14 -- Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC, a leading global provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), announced today that PowerShares QQQ expects to issue a special dividend payment on Friday, March, 7, 2014.

The special dividend is due to a corporate action event by Vodafone Group PLC ADR which is held by PowerShares QQQ. As of February 20, 2014 Vodafone represented 0.93% of total holdings in PowerShares QQQ. The ex-date for special distribution is anticipated to be Thursday, February 27, 2014. The record date is anticipated to be Monday, March 3, 2014, and the payable date is anticipated to be Friday, March 7, 2014.

The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) is the trustee of the PowerShares QQQ Trust, and Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC is the sponsor of the PowerShares QQQ Trust. PowerShares QQQ represents undivided ownership interests in the portfolio of stocks held by the PowerShares QQQ Trust. The payment of the dividend is subject to final determination by the Trustee.

PowerShares QQQ, formerly known as the "NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock®," is based on the NASDAQ-100 Index®. The Fund will, under most circumstances, consist of all of stocks in the Index. The index includes 100 of the largest domestic and international nonfinancial companies listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market based on market capitalization. You cannot invest directly in the index. The portfolio is rebalanced quarterly and reconstituted annually.
