Arcadyan today announced that it has selected AirHop’s eSON™ system software to be integrated with its LTE small cell product family. The integrated solution will provide wireless operators with LTE small cell eNodeBs with basic and advanced SON features such as real-time interference management and network capacity optimization capability.
Large-scale deployment of small cells is the next big challenge for the mobile operators to address ever-increasing data demands of the consumers and enterprises. To meet these different requirements, Arcadyan provides cost-effective, carrier-grade LTE small cell product line ranging from residential to enterprise femtocell products to picocell products for outdoor applications. Arcadyan products implement extra features such as data offload to a WiFi network, data packet inspection, etc.
AirHop’s eSON provides real-time multi-cell coordination to optimize coverage, capacity and quality of service, and load balancing, which is essential in HetNet deployment. A cloud-based client-server architecture also enables SON virtualization to deliver scalability and multi-vendor eNodeB support.
“Arcadyan’s system capability enables us to provide solutions that offer our customers the ability to easily deploy LTE small cell networks in the rapidly evolving wireless market, including both enterprise and residential markets. Integrating with the leading advanced SON solution from AirHop strengthens our capability to deliver a more innovative and competitive solution for small cell and heterogeneous networks," said YH Lee, CEO of Arcadyan. “Moreover, by integrating AirHop’s real-time management system, we can provide the high security and quality guarantee for the mobile access services of the future.”
“AirHop’s innovative eSON solution has drawn strong interest and demand from operators and equipment vendors globally. Being selected by Arcadyan is another indication that the market has recognized real-time SON with client-server architecture is essential to dense LTE small cell and HetNet deployment,” said Yan Hui, co-founder and CEO of AirHop. “Arcadyan’s complete system solution armed with AirHop’s eSON will enable operators to fast-track the mass deployment of small cells. We are looking forward to a fruitful relationship with Arcadyan.”
The solution will be on display in the Arcadyan stand (Hall 5 #5H68) at Mobile World Congress from Feb. 24 to 27 in Barcelona.

About AirHop’s eSON™
AirHop’s advanced RAN Intelligence solutions manage interference and optimize system capacity in multi-cell and multiple network configurations. AirHop’s eSON™ software suite can support both cloud-based architecture or fully distributed architecture, and it provides real-time optimization of available radio resources via multi-cell coordination to effectively provide optimal coverage, capacity for each cell, and quality of service (QoS) for individual user. This is especially critical in HetNet deployments where a large number of unplanned small cells can exist within a macro-cell. Visit www.airhopcomm.com for more information.
