The Bridgespan Group Features Select Media's Cuidate! As A High-Impact Program Worth Emulating

NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Select Media's Cuidate! is featured in a report by the Bridgespan Group highlighting top-tier, evidence-based programs being implemented under the federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) program. Released in November 2013, the Bridgespan Group report, "What does it take to implement evidence-based practices?" features Cuidate! and other Select Media interventions as "high-impact programs that have been tested in rigorous trials and found to deliver superior results for society."

Evidence-based programs (EBPs) are stand-alone interventions based on research studies showing "what works" in health promotion. A program proven effective in research implies that it could be effective if delivered again in a similar setting with the same core components. To make an impact, organizations must identify EBPs that warrant replication, and select the EBP that is a good fit for their community. Health and Human Service-approved Select Media interventions include: Be Proud! Awarding $75 million competitive 5-year grants to 75 of 1,100 selected nonprofits and public agencies in 37 states, the TPP program demonstrates a promising framework for training and supporting organizations to successfully implement EBPs across the country. Sponsored by the Office of Adolescent Health, the TPP program includes a rigorous selection of EBPs and grantees, ensuring fidelity to the chosen EBPs, and providing key implementation support. After extensive review and interviews, the Bridgespan Group concludes that "the TPP program is a model worth emulating."
