Even though Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the world, it is still has something to learn from its main competitors - iOS and WinPhone.
Creating and restoring a full backup
The longtime scourge of Android is the absence of a full backup. That is, you cannot back up all applications and games with the settings, as well as SMS and system settings. Of course, the problem is solved partially by Titanium Backup, but you need to use Root, which most users will not get. This is a huge advantage of iOS as a mobile platform: you can make a backup of your old iPhone 5 and restore a complete copy on the new iPhone 5s.
Strict compliance with the guideline for applications design
Android in terms of interfaces design in applications is a mess. Some mobile app developers strictly follows the Google’s recommendations, someone takes into account only some of them, and someone they do not care. In this regard, strict censorship on the appearance of iOS and Windows Phone apps seems to be a great advantage.
Speed of work
I regret to admit that both iOS and Windows Phone are currently working faster than most Android-smartphones. With some exceptions - some newly released smartphones such as HTC One, Google Nexus 5, LG G2, Meizu MX3.
Frankly speaking, iPhone with its 4X5 icon set looks very stylish and quite harmoniously. The same goes for Windows Phone smartphone with their large tiles. But Android can’t boast of big size of icons, and it is a bit frustrating.
Work with photos of contacts
iOS and Windows Phone systems are originally "tighten" with the cloud of high-quality photos of contacts, but some Android-smartphone is still a problem. To refresh a photo for a quality one, you need to open a contact card, and wait a few seconds. Let’s agree that it is really inconvenient if you have thousands of contacts in the list.
Strict requirements to hardware
Have you ever wondered why Google cannot take control of the OS upgrade? One reason: the variety of display resolutions, chipsets , and other characteristics. Windows Phone has quite strict requirements for the screen resolution, specific processors and other characteristics, thanks to this Microsoft can be engaged in updating all devices with the latest versions of WP.
Nevertheless, I would like to finish this article on a positive note. Despite the above roughness, I still believe that Android is one of the best operating systems developed. Both iOS and Windows Phone in addition to the above mentioned advantages have their own shortcomings.
