Condusiv Technologies Releases V-locity Version 5 Acceleration Software for up to 2 or 3 Times Performance Gains in Virtual, Physical and Cloud Environments - no Additional Hardware Required

WOKING, England, March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

- New V-locity version 5 acceleration software gives customers central command and control for accelerating I/O intensive applications across the largest and most complex virtual, physical and cloud environments. V-locity is now bundled with an enterprise-class management console that auto-detects assets across multiple locations, simplifies installation by deploying to thousands of virtual or physical servers in just five clicks, and combines I/O performance management that both validates V-locity performance and provides ongoing I/O performance management via detailed reports and alerts for visibility into key application performance metrics from virtual server to storage. Organizations can now easily quantify the business value of V-locity and extend the efficiency of existing CAPEX investments, giving CIOs more control over their budget without adding any additional server or storage hardware.

Condusiv Technologies, the leader in high-performance software optimizing technology, people and businesses, today announced the release of
V-locity® version 5 I/O reduction and caching software that boosts application performance from virtual or physical server to storage without additional hardware.  V-locity version 5 delivers midsize to large enterprise customers up to 2 or 3 times performance gains on their most I/O intensive applications, allowing them to achieve far more productivity from the infrastructure they already have.

According to IDC, data has exploded with 75X growth of files over ten years.  At Symposium 2013, Gartner expected to see 25X I/O growth every two years. With hardware performance growing an optimistic 8X over ten years, it's clear that hardware is not cost efficiently keeping up with the growth of I/O as organizations quickly find themselves in an unsustainable business model of buying more and more server and storage hardware for increased performance. This growing performance chasm has created a conundrum for organizations on how they will bridge this challenge without losing more and more of their IT budget to hardware in a Software Defined Everything World.

In the latest "On the Radar" technology brief from leading analyst firm, Ovum, it was stated, "Ovum believes V-locity may be one of the most innovative technologies in 2014 that can enable CIOs to improve productivity while reducing ongoing storage costs."

V-locity version 5 is an I/O optimization software solution that increases application performance in virtual, physical and cloud environments by 50% or more, with many customers seeing 2 to 3 times performance gain without the cost of additional hardware.

"With V-locity, we've seen a 157% decrease in I/O to the SAN. The result is processing times on some of the larger files went from 5 minutes to 1 minute," said Giuseppe Debari, Network Manager, Myron Corporation, one of the largest multinational companies that manufactures and distributes promotional products.

"After deploying V-locity, we experienced 80-90% improvement for SQL, email and CRM. Sluggishness and performance issues just don't exist anymore. There is no longer a need to replace or upgrade our SAN architecture," said Robert Del Vecchio, IT Infrastructure Manager, Creative Office Pavilion, one of the nation's leading workplace consultants and office furniture dealers.

By optimizing I/O as close to the application as possible, at the Windows OS level, V-locity dramatically reduces the number of I/Os required for any given workload, thereby reducing latency and increasing bandwidth from server to network to storage.  In addition to physical and cloud infrastructures, V-locity significantly improves the efficiency of all VMware ESX/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-Vvirtual platforms by optimizing reads and writes, allowing more data to be packaged into each I/O request while also caching frequently accessed data within available server memory. The result? Unprecedented application performance gains from a 100% software approach.

"Our customers reflect nearly every vertical including thousands of global enterprises, government agencies, independent software vendors (ISVs), and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide; we have identified the healthcare space as one of our fastest growing verticals. The quality of patient care depends on the ability to quickly load and process medical records. With some of the largest health organizations using V-locity, they have doubled and even tripled the performance of their EMR/EHR without adding additional hardware to achieve those increased levels of productivity," said Jerry Baldwin, Condusiv CEO. "V-locity's performance contribution can be seen as a dramatic business differentiator that delivers quantifiable business value by extending the efficiency of existing CAPEX investments while giving CIOs more control over their budget to invest in new innovation and bottom line growth."

Overcoming performance barriers with proven, patented IP

IntelliMemory™ Read I/O Optimization

Reduces I/O bottlenecks by intelligently caching active data.

Based on usage and time, V-locity's self-learning, application-aware intelligence caches data ahead of time on available server DRAM. Server-side caching eliminates unnecessary I/O on the storage layer and greatly improves response time by 50% or more.

IntelliWrite® Write I/O Optimization

Automatically prevents the Windows operating system from breaking files into multiple pieces and writing those pieces in a performance penalized manner. By optimizing random I/O traffic to behave sequentially, this proactive approach improves application performance by reducing the I/O requirement for any given workload.

Benefit Analyzer

V-locity includes a Benefit Analyzer feature that delivers a before and after performance comparison so users can validate performance before purchase commitment and share the report with supervisors and stakeholders to validate business value.

We are reaching the end of the beginning with WebRTC, and real systems using this technology have begun to appear. One challenge that faces every WebRTC deployment (in some form or another) is identity management. For example, if you have an existing service – possibly built on a variety of different PaaS/SaaS offerings – and you want to add real-time communications you are faced with a challenge relating to user management, authentication, authorization, and validation. Service providers will w...
The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. Some talk about a DevOps culture but then reference activities that could lead to culture change and there are those that talk about culture change as a set of behaviors that need to be adopted by those in IT. There is no question that businesses successful in adopting a DevOps mindset have seen departmental culture change, ...
There's Big Data, then there's really Big Data from the Internet of Things. IoT is evolving to include many data possibilities like new types of event, log and network data. The volumes are enormous, generating tens of billions of logs per day, which raise data challenges. Early IoT deployments are relying heavily on both the cloud and managed service providers to navigate these challenges. In her session at Big Data Expo®, Hannah Smalltree, Director at Treasure Data, discussed how IoT, Big D...
The Internet of Things is tied together with a thin strand that is known as time. Coincidentally, at the core of nearly all data analytics is a timestamp. The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...

Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...
