CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - March 03, 2014) - Arhaus expands on its offering of handcrafted furniture and accessories with tabletop -- nearly 300 SKUs of ceramic dishes and stoneware, specialty serving pieces and accents, colorful glassware, natural linens and flatware of every design for every occasion. The Cleveland-based retailer is devoting anywhere from 800 to 1,000 sq. ft. in-stores to its Arhaus Table shop -- which will be featured in eight of its 47 locations for the initial launch March 1.
"We've created a shop-within-a-shop in select stores to present the collection in its entirety," says Chief Creative Officer Gary Babcock, "and we've merchandised it in a way that customers can mix and match pieces from different collections to truly create a unique tablesetting that's not only reflective of their personal taste and style, but that can accommodate specific occasions and get-togethers."
Developed the same way the retailer developed its furniture and accessories, Arhaus Table is inspired by a global mix of design influence, and pieces are handmade for the retailer by artisans who are still relying on age-old methods and moulds to bring beautiful tableware to life.
Arhaus is debuting 11 very different sets of dinnerware -- all are handcrafted in America, Italy and Portugal and incorporate such details as embossing, deco edges and decorative finishes that says Babcock, "you won't find in any other retailer's table assortment."
Nickel-plated mint julep cups and a biscuit tin a la Downton Abbey are a few of the unique accent pieces that Babcock says will also prove to be great conversation starters.
Artisans in Mexico, Portugal and here in the States made the retailer's nine glassware collections, which include a colorful array of juice glasses in pressed patterns and goblets, tumblers, pitcher and complementing salt and pepper shakers. Babcock describes the Hazel Collection as Americana, made by a manufacturer still practicing tried and true glassmaking techniques in Southern Ohio, the retailer's near backyard.
"The cast iron mould used to create Hazel is from this company's archives," says Babcock. "It's a Victorian pattern that probably dates back to the late 1800s. Many of the moulds we looked through are literally hundreds of years old," he finishes, "purchased from a former glass manufacturer in the area that went out of business in the 50s."
Hazel is a classic that will translate in four different colorways to any tabletop according to Babcock, as will the ten flatware designs created for everyday use and fine dining in a range of finishes -- from blackened steel to gold and even brass.
In addition, Arhaus Table includes six collections of nothing but accessories for the bar -- from crystal decanters to derby-inspired wine chillers with leather and brass accents. "We've really thought of every need," says Babcock. "And that includes stocking your bar to entertain family and friends."
Eight linen collections -- placemats and napkins -- complement every collection within Arhaus Table. Additional specialty pieces include marble cutting boards and cake plates.
Arhaus Table was introduced to the retailer's ecommerce site, www.arhaus.com, February 1.
The following eight store locations opened Arhaus Table shops March 1:
- 410 West 13
thStreet, New York, NY
- Tysons Corner Center, McLean, VA
- 5023 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, FL
- Phipps Plaza, Atlanta, GA
- Oak Brook Promenade, Oak Brook, IL
- Centre at Post Oak, Houston, TX
- King of Prussia Mall, Philadelphia, PA
- Legacy Village, Lyndhurst, OH
Arhaus Table will also debut at the retailer's first Dallas location opening at NorthPark Center later in the year. "We'll continue to expand on the collection's in-store presence," says Babcock.
Arhaus: Arhaus offers a compelling, inspiration-filled environment -- stores average 16,000+ sq. ft. -- with one of a kind handcrafted home furnishings reflective of a distinct global point of view. Arhaus collaborates with skilled artisans here in the states and all over the world who craft its many exclusive collections, which are complemented by timeless upholstered pieces (slipcovered, leather and custom-order seating), indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs, bedroom and office furniture, seasonally-inspired accessories, private label bedding, throws and accents, and a new line of tableware and more. Made of the world's finest materials (with attention to sustainability), products are presented in dramatic lifestyle settings infused with original architectural elements imported from Parisian flea markets and Tuscan villas, hand-painted murals, Arhaus Relics, or repurposed antiques, and the freshest botanicals sourced locally in each store market. Privately-owned and operated, currently there are 47 stores in the U.S. The national home furnishings retailer was founded in 1986 by father and son, Jack and John Reed, and is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. "Furnishing a better world." This is our philosophy; it dates back to 1986 when father and son, Jack and John Reed, opened the first store location in Cleveland and vowed never to use wood from the world's endangered rainforests in the making of an Arhaus design. Today, nearly 50 percent of our collections are made of recycled material -- everything from glass, to metals like copper and wood cast off from far off lands. To ensure our values are upheld, we work with artisans who share our earth conscious values and use renewable and recycled materials when crafting pieces for our stores. Sustainably sourced timbers like Teak, Bamboo and Mango -- grown for the sole purpose of building -- are used. And because we love a good story, we use reclaimed materials whenever possible, namely wood from countries tearing down dilapidated barns, shipyards and rural structures, and we refurbish one-of-a-kind antiques -- we call these pieces Relics. To further minimize our impact on the environment, our stores, corporate offices and even delivery trucks operate as maximum energy efficiency and promotional pieces are printed using soy-based ink and on recycled paper.

The major cloud platforms defy a simple, side-by-side analysis. Each of the major IaaS public-cloud platforms offers their own unique strengths and functionality. Options for on-site private cloud are diverse as well, and must be designed and deployed while taking existing legacy architecture and infrastructure into account. Then the reality is that most enterprises are embarking on a hybrid cloud strategy and programs. In this Power Panel at 15th Cloud Expo (http://www.CloudComputingExpo.com...

The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...
