FAIRFIELD, Conn. and TRENTO, Italy, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TVEyes Inc. and PerVoice S.p.A. announced today the formation of a new company that will enable the extension of TV and radio broadcasting monitoring in any language, to any market worldwide. TVEyes Language Technology (TLT) is a partnership between TVEyes Inc., a U.S.-based international broadcast monitor, and Italian PerVoice S.p.A., an innovator in speech-to-text technologies (also known as large-vocabulary continuous speech recognition or LVCSR).
"TVEyes Language Technology, leveraging PerVoice proprietary technology for speech recognition, will enable us to add new languages to our platform with unprecedented speed and efficiency. It is applicable to every spoken language, including regional accents, and the economics can work for nearly any size market," said David Ives, CEO and founder of TVEyes. "In addition, if a country or region becomes of urgent interest to a particular client or set of clients, we can add real-time media monitoring for that country and language with rapid turnaround."
TVEyes Language Technology is majority-owned by TVEyes Inc., enabling government and military technology buyers that require vendors to be majority U.S.-owned to procure its services. Locating TVEyes Language Technology in Trento, Italy enables its employees to work collaboratively with PerVoice on its technology and team of linguists, building on the success the partners have achieved over the last two years, during which they launched six new languages for the TVEyes Media Monitoring Suite. Thanks to the cooperation of Pervoice which will provide new technologies, TVEyes can now be aggressive in adding new countries and languages to its Media Monitoring Suite and provide new languages to meet customer requirements in three months or less.
Alessandro Tescari, CEO of PerVoice said, "It was a natural step for the two companies to make a joint investment in TVEyes Language Technology. PerVoice proprietary real-time speech-to-text enables a broad range of applications including call center advanced analytics, subtitling and dictation. These differing environments have required us to build very adaptable language models, providing a strong foundation that has catalyzed TVEyes expansion into major markets of Europe, the Middle East and Asia."
"PerVoice, which recently entered in the Almawave Group, will continue investing and developing its distinctive technologies for international markets and will soon present an integrated solution for the wider landscape of Big Data Insights. We are sure that both companies will benefit from a cross-pollination of ideas and experience," Tescari concluded.
TVEyes Inc., headquartered in Fairfield, Conn., provides online, real-time search and indexing for television and radio broadcasts, and audio and video search infrastructure for search engines. Its Media Monitoring Suite™ is in use by corporations, professional sports teams, political campaigns, elected officials and the military to provide up-to-the-second intelligence on broadcast in multiple languages for U.S. and international markets. Skeuomorphism usually means retaining existing design cues in something new that doesn’t actually need them. DevOps is about increasing efficiency, but nothing is more inefficient than building the same application twice. However, this is a routine occurrence with enterprise applications that need both a rich desktop web interface and strong mobile support. With recent technological advances from Isomorphic Software and others, it is now feasible to create a rich desktop and tuned mobile experience with a single codebase, without compromising performance or usability.

Application metrics, logs, and business KPIs are a goldmine. It’s easy to get started with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) – you can see lots of people coming up with impressive dashboards, in less than a day, with no previous experience. Going from proof-of-concept to production tends to be a bit more difficult, unfortunately, and it tends to gobble up our attention, time, and money. In his session at DevOps Summit, Otis Gospodnetić, co-author of Lucene in Action and founder...

Thanks to Docker, it becomes very easy to leverage containers to build, ship, and run any Linux application on any kind of infrastructure. Docker is particularly helpful for microservice architectures because their successful implementation relies on a fast, efficient deployment mechanism – which is precisely one of the features of Docker. Microservice architectures are therefore becoming more popular, and are increasingly seen as an interesting option even for smaller projects, instead of bein...

Even as cloud and managed services grow increasingly central to business strategy and performance, challenges remain. The biggest sticking point for companies seeking to capitalize on the cloud is data security. Keeping data safe is an issue in any computing environment, and it has been a focus since the earliest days of the cloud revolution.
