Verizon Wireless Supports Local Startups

AUSTIN, Texas, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

WHO/WHAT:

Startups begin with an idea – a game-changing idea.  Once entrepreneurs begin to make their idea a reality, however, they are challenged with expensive and complicated day-to-day business needs.  The original idea may suffer due to such challenges.  Verizon Wireless wants to change that.  Therefore, Power My Startup was created to support startups in the Texas region.

Power My Startup is a program that provides newly-minted startups with the tools they need to get their ideas off the ground.  Selected recipients will receive a toolkit with two Verizon smartphones, one 4G LTE tablet, a Jetpack and a Power Pack.

To launch Power My Startup, Verizon Wireless is hosting an invite-only event featuring Grammy-winning hip hop artist Big Boi on March 7 at the Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin.

For event updates and information, or to apply for a Power My Startup kit, visit www.powermystartup.com or follow @powermystartup.
