Today is like a national holiday to thousands of fans around the world that follows and supports Regina Swarn, better known to her close friends as Gin.

This day, appropriately named 'Celebrate Gin Day', is an yearly event celebrated by Gin's fans from all walks of life.  It starts exactly one week before Gin's actual birthday, but most fans start celebrating as early as the beginning of the year.  You can participate in this phenomenon by simply wishing Gin a Happy Birthday wherever you are and posting a toast for best wishes.  Some fans go all out to support this day by throwing parties at their homes, schools, churches or wherever they can come together and unite just for the opportunity to celebrate this remarkable woman.

If you would like to take part in the event this year you can visit Regina Swarns' Official Facebook Fan Page at:

"I cannot believe it", says Gin.  "My fans are the best in the world.  I spend hours reading their letters and watching the videos they send in for support.

"Gin's brother, Jason Anderson says that the event is never ending.  "It started on March 1st this year and ends on March 8th.  My sister has made a great impact on many people and it shows through the love of her fans.  While many are seeking attention through negative publicity, my sister stays focused on the positive things in life and helps other people as much as possible.  We call that 'Letting Your Light Shine!"

Gin admitted to a close friend just recently how she feels about the fame and success that she experiences and just laughs it off.  "Oh my goodness, is this real?  People wanting to be me?  I have a standard to keep with so many watching and following my every move.  I trust and depend on God to lead and guide me through my daily life.  I'm truly humbled by all of this".

Gin has received thousands of letters already from admiring fans and many are writing poems and sending in hundreds of videos to commemorate her.  The music world has also taken notice.  Last March, 2013 Italian mega superstar Alessandro Porcella arranged and composed a song just for Gin's birthday called 'Regina--Happy Birthday Gin'.  Many songs have been written about her, not always just for her birthday.  She's loved by so many.

The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. Some talk about a DevOps culture but then reference activities that could lead to culture change and there are those that talk about culture change as a set of behaviors that need to be adopted by those in IT. There is no question that businesses successful in adopting a DevOps mindset have seen departmental culture change, ...

The definition of IoT is not new, in fact it’s been around for over a decade. What has changed is the public's awareness that the technology we use on a daily basis has caught up on the vision of an always on, always connected world. The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...

Scott Jenson leads a project called The Physical Web within the Chrome team at Google. Project members are working to take the scalability and openness of the web and use it to talk to the exponentially exploding range of smart devices. Nearly every company today working on the IoT comes up with the same basic solution: use my server and you'll be fine. How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...
DevOps is all about agility. However, you don't want to be on a high-speed bus to nowhere. The right DevOps approach controls velocity with a tight feedback loop that not only consists of operational data but also incorporates business context. In his session at DevOps Summit, Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, discussed key monitoring techniques...
