Noesis Releases Noesis Pro V2.0: the Industry's Most Comprehensive Suite of SaaS-Based Selling Tools for Efficiency Project Developers

Latest version adds project estimation technology and online efficiency business proposals to reduce the time it takes to sell energy efficiency projects. Noesis Pro customers are on track to develop and finance more than $150mm in projects in 2014.

Noesis Pro V2.0 is designed for commercial and industrial efficiency project developers (consultants, design/build firms, manufacturers, and distributors), specifically those with regional or national sales teams who propose and sell midmarket efficiency projects, typically between $50,000 and $2mm in size.

This latest version of Noesis Pro aims to dramatically reduce the time it takes to identify and qualify opportunities before project developers go on-site for time-intensive and costly "free audits." With the Project Savings Estimator and Finance Estimator, Noesis Pro users can quickly assess a building owner's level of interest in a project by providing one-page estimates on potential project savings and cash flow analysis using third-party financing.

Also released with this latest version is the online Efficiency Business Proposal, which provides an online collaborative platform for proposing and discussing efficiency projects. This speeds up the proposal process by eliminating much of the back-and-forth and waiting that is typical during most project proposal processes.

Noesis Pro Capabilities
Noesis Pro consists of SaaS-based tools that help with estimating, proposing and measuring efficiency projects. All tools use industry standards, such as ASHRAE and IPMVP, to perform the energy efficiency analysis, and include the comprehensive financial modeling and scenario analysis that is required by CFOs and building owners to make quick, informed investment decisions.

  1. Prospecting (identifying new opportunities) – Today, most project developers spend too much time on upfront work and do not reach the ultimate decision maker (for example, the CFO) fast enough. Project developers start with a time-consuming audit that results in detailed recommendations that are often not approved or seriously considered by decision makers. Noesis Pro introduces the Project Savings Estimator, an online tool that uses the Noesis collection of public and proprietary building and efficiency databases, as well as input from the project developer, to instantly generate accurate savings estimates for specific efficiency measures. These estimates can be shared with the decision maker, early in the process, before moving forward with a costly and time-consuming audit.
  2. Evaluating (analyzing opportunities) – This time-consuming phase of the selling process requires hours of spreadsheet analysis and going back and forth with the client. Also, the analyses—typically done in Excel—lack the look and feel of a credible, independent analysis, which is essential when asking CFOs to make material cap-ex investments. To help with this phase, Noesis Pro now includes upgraded Project Analysis and Forecasting tools to automate energy analysis and instantly create compelling, interactive charts and graphs, and enable online collaboration to facilitate communication and sharing of documents amongst stakeholders, and the Project Financing Estimator to generate cash-flow analysis for various third-party financing options to overcome budget constraints
  3. Proposing (presenting opportunities) – Developing proposals is both time-consuming and frustrating for the project developer. It takes a lot of time to assemble the final deliverable, which is often revised many times as changes trickle in. This process is further complicated by the tendency of decision makers to take their time, leaving the project developer to sit and wait for days, months, or even longer. Noesis Pro now offers the Efficiency Business Proposal, a web-based project proposal that incorporates and summarizes all financial and energy analysis, and presents it in a format and language that financial decision makers understand. It also gives decision makers access to the 'knobs and dials' to perform scenario analysis, so they can find the optimal project mix and financing for them.
  4. Measuring (verifying opportunities) – This phase is often a missed opportunity for project developers to upsell new business and use past project successes to win new accounts.
