Nimble Storage Announces New Performance Analytics Capabilities within InfoSight™

Channel Partners Empowered to Be Trusted Advisors by Obtaining Deeper Visibility into End User Storage Environments

London - March 10, 2014 - Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL), a leading provider of flash-optimised hybrid storage solutions, today announced new performance analytics capabilities within Nimble Storage InfoSight. These forensic capabilities are key enhancements to the predictive analytics InfoSight has offered providing real-time monitoring, reporting, forecasting and planning capabilities to customers. With this deeper level of intelligence, InfoSight eliminates the time-consuming, manual process of determining how and where performance bottlenecks originate by providing automatic diagnosis and correlation of leading factors impacting performance or latency. As a result, customers are better positioned to implement specific tasks in real-time to keep their storage infrastructure running at peak health.

InfoSight allows customers to obtain a holistic view of their storage environment through its cloud-based data collection engine that automatically collects comprehensive data around the overall health of their storage, including performance, capacity, and data protection. With this new automated correlation capability, systems administrators are able to find the 'needle in a haystack' with a deeper level of insight into the leading factors for performance challenges, including details specific to host or network challenges, flash to disk ratio, and CPU utilisation. The ability to automatically identify these challenges eliminates the days or weeks spent with manual data collection and analyses and professional services fees, while ensuring systems run at peak health.

Channel Partners Obtain Deeper Visibility Into End User Storage Environments
Nimble Storage now allows customers to grant resellers access to their InfoSight portal, the web-enabled interface that provides a summary of each customer's capacity savings, protection benefits, and downtime savings achieved. Access to the InfoSight portal equips channel partners with a deeper level of intelligence about end user environments as they are called upon to be trusted advisors in the IT decision-making process. Nimble channel partners are better positioned to proactively forecast aspects of customer environments, such as array upgrades, cache expansion, and other recommendations to keep their customer environments running smoothly.

By obtaining a better understanding of end user environments, partners are able to realise additional business and signal opportunities to provide services based on the environment in real time.

The InfoSight capabilities described in this press release are currently available to all Nimble Storage customers as part of their support subscription package.

Supporting Quotes
"Nimble Storage InfoSight provides Milliman with data analytics that help us keep our systems running in top condition. The new performance correlation capability helps us quickly diagnose any performance or latency issues, reducing the need for time-consuming manual data collection."
Dan McCurley, senior network administrator, Milliman

"We have always been impressed by the proactive nature of Nimble's support, and that all begins with InfoSight. Its deep data analytics and proactive alerting goes far beyond what the traditional vendors have implemented in the past. And now with the ability to access our customers' InfoSight portals, we can leverage that information to be much more proactive with them moving forward. It's really about strengthening the relationship with our customers above all else."
- Chris Reep, account manager, High Point Networks

"Developing long-term relationships with our customers is a top priority for us. Having access to our customers' Nimble InfoSight portal and the extensive data it provides allows us to be much more proactive with our customers, giving them confidence in our recommendations as to how to manage their Nimble infrastructure."
- Grant Burns, solutions architect, Compudyne

"Performance issues cost companies money, decrease employee productivity and can affect customer relationships. The 'old school way' of scouring through hundreds of data sets to identify an issue is inefficient, and is just that -- old school. By automating this process though InfoSight we are allowing customers to get back to 'business as usual' an order of magnitude faster than traditional triage methods. In addition, end users will experience a new level of customer service as their trusted channel partners gain access to deeper insight into their current storage environment."
- Rod Bagg, vice president of customer support, Nimble Storage
