Vice Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea Air Force to Speak at Upcoming Mitchell Event

ARLINGTON, Va., March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Force Association's Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies welcomes Lt. Gen. Hyungchul Kim, Vice Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea Air Force, as the guest speaker for an upcoming Mitchell Forum. The event will be held on Friday, March 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Sheraton Pentagon City, in Arlington, Virginia.

Sixty years after the armistice, the Republic of Korea is one of the United States' core treaty allies in East Asia and is a key partner in the "Pacific Pivot." USAF and ROKAF forces stand united as key partners through numerous collaborative engagements on the Korean Peninsula, in Asia, and around the world. During the hour-long presentation, Kim will discuss security dynamics in North East Asia, the collaborative relationship between the air forces of the United States and the Republic of Korea, and details regarding the Republic of Korea Air Force's military modernization plan.
