The HDBaseT Alliance exhibit at the annual NAB Show will show the broadcasting market how the HDBaseT technology facilitates a move away from the expensive SDI infrastructure that control rooms and other facilities have traditionally been built around to a simpler, more cost-effective LAN-cable infrastructure.
HDBaseT enables all-in-one connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays through a single 100m CAT5e/6 cable, delivering uncompressed high definition video, including 4K, audio, Ethernet, control signals and up to 100 watts of power. Powered by the Valens chipset, HDBaseT has become a global digital connectivity standard with a large and varied product ecosystem that includes video distribution equipment, displays, projectors and AV receivers from more than 80 manufacturers.
The HDBaseT Alliance booth (#SU 11914) will feature live demonstrations of how HDBaseT can deliver 4K video over a single cable over long distances to significantly reduce the costs and complexities of installations. These demonstrations will be based on products by several HDBaseT Alliance members and partners including: Apantac, Gefen, Keisoku, Kramer, and Muxlab.
Additionally, the Alliance will showcase new HDBaseT enabled displays from leading manufacturers such as Panasonic, NEC, Samsung and Primeview. These displays are less costly than the typical HD-SDI displays and can be ideal for control rooms and broadcasting studios.
“A number of Alliance members manufacture displays and other HDBaseT products that are increasingly being used in broadcasting installations,” said Micha Risling, Marketing Committee Chair, the HDBaseT Alliance. “Our NAB booth will feature a wide variety of products and live demonstrations that will show attendees first-hand just how much simpler and quicker HDBaseT makes the installation process.”
Attendees can also participate in the “Fight the Cable Invasion!” video game tournament that will not only educate players on the features and benefits of HDBaseT, but reward the player who earns the highest score with two tickets to the Elton John Las Vegas show "The Million Dollar Piano" for the night of April 9th at Caesar’s Palace.
