Remington® Introduces the iCup™ "Lifestyle Series™", a New Line of Six Single-Serve Brewers Compatible with Keurig® and K-Type cups, Designed to Accommodate Every Coffee Lover's Lifestyle

The iCup Lifestyle Series Features the World's First Single-Serve Coffee Brewing System with Rotational SteamBrew™ Technology and the 28-ounce iCarafe™ for Dramatically Smoother and Better-Tasting Coffee in Any Size

VALENCIA, Calif., March 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Remington® introduces a comprehensive lineup in its new "Lifestyle Series™" with iCup™ -- the world's first single-serve coffee brewing system to use rotational SteamBrew™ technology. Featuring the iCarafe™, a stainless steel (non-plastic) thermal carafe, the iCup system will brew up to 28 ounces of coffee into iCarafe with a larger single-serve K-type cup. The new Remington Lifestyle Series featuring iCup and the iCarafe is debuting at the International Home+Housewares Show (IHHS) in Chicago, March 15-18, 2014 and will be showcased in demonstrations.

Bruce Burrows, Remington CEO, explains, "Our iCup Lifestyle Series and the iCarafe is breakthrough technology for the single-serve brewer industry, providing a superior tasting cup of coffee from your favorite Keurig® K-Cup® or K-type equivalent."

iCup uses patent pending rotational SteamBrew technology to steam and stir the coffee grounds in all Keurig and K-Type compatible cups. This revolutionary rotational brewing technology is similar to that of iCoffee®, featured on the cover of Consumer Reports' 2014 "Hot List", which creates a brewing environment that extracts rich, smooth flavors without the bitter-acidic aftertaste often associated with drip and single-serve coffee brewers.

"We have changed the game by creating a system that accepts all Keurig K-Cups, including the new 2.0 interactive K-Cups, as well as any K-type equivalent. Our iCoffee lovers requested that we put the 'impossibly smooth' taste that they experience with iCoffee in a single-serve machine, and we are thrilled to be able to do that with iCup."

Remington launched iCoffee in 2013. iCoffee was the first-ever coffee brewer to utilize rotational steam jets inside the brew basket to crack open the grounds, unlocking all the rich coffee flavors while eliminating any bitter or acidic aftertaste.

iCup uses a patent pending rotational jet inside the K-Cup® or K-type cup that steams and stirs the coffee at the optimum brewing temperature to release maximum flavor.

The iCup brewer is also the first to use a patent pending Dial-a-Brew cup size selector that provides the user with any brew strength between 6 and 28 ounces of beverage size depending on the Lifestyle Series model.

The iCup brewer will be produced in six models and comes loaded with different features to accommodate every coffee lover's lifestyle. Some models will include a built-in K-cup® storage space within the brewer that conveniently holds eight coffee pods.

Burrows added that Keurig has announced a 2.0 interactive K-Cup reader system that will both eliminate choice and will ultimately be more expensive by requiring consumers to use only Keurig-licensed interactive K-cups.

"With iCup, coffee lovers will experience a dramatically better tasting coffee and the ability to use their favorite Keurig  K-Cup or K-type equivalent from makers including Kraft (Maxwell House, Gevalia), Mother Parkers (Real Cup), Rogers Family Coffee, Sturm Foods, Kroger and Safeway, just to name a few. By delivering this game-changing brewer technology for a cost that is substantially less than the competition, we are offering coffee lovers – and our retail partners – value and freedom of choice while supplying a 28-ounce iCarafe full of delicious coffee," Burrows added.

iCup will be available at retail by third quarter, 2014. For more information about the company, please visit www.icoffee.com.
