Gila LLC Receives Prestigious Industry Certification for the 7th Consecutive Year

Gila LLC, and its two business units, Municipal Services Bureau (MSB) and Gila Group, has been awarded the Professional Practices Management System™ certification (PPMS™), from the Association of Credit & Collections Professionals (ACA). Similar to an ISO 9000 review, PPMS™ is a management system for collection agencies based upon developing, implementing and adhering to a set of industry-specific professional practices and policies.

“The PPMS™ certification from ACA International is further evidence of our Company’s extensive experience, solid execution skills and professional business ethics, as a leader in the collection industry,” said Bruce Cummings, Chief Executive Officer of Gila LLC.

This unique designation is granted by ACA, the association for businesses and individuals involved in the credit and collections industry. ACA International represents approximately 5,500 member companies, including 3,400 collection agencies. ACA’s PPMS™ Program includes eighteen specific elements that provide the foundation for the operation of a successful collection agency. Specific emphasis is placed on an agency’s ability to document and audit its business practices, processes and procedures, as well as consistently adhere to ACA’s Professional Code of Ethics.

“Being continually recognized as a PPMS™ certified agency is extremely important because Gila LLC holds itself to a higher operational standard. We continually take a critical look at our operations, in order to improve results for our clients,” Cummings added.

On an ongoing basis, the PPMS™ processes at certified agencies result in a reduction in errant procedures, increased communication among internal departments, better training and development of collections staff, and consistent, efficient and professional handling of client issues. While there are thousands of collection agencies of all types in the United States today, less than 6% have committed their companies to the rigor and discipline required by the PPMS™ certification process.
