ISELIN, N.J., March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ansell, a global leader in protection solution and the makers of LifeStyles SKYN Condoms, today announces the launch of a social media app that will help users escape the "friend zone" and enter the "SKYN Zone." SKYN Link allows users to anonymously choose the Facebook friends they would like to explore a deeper relationship with, invite them to "Hook Up," and discreetly discover if those Facebook friends feel the same way.
After downloading the app, to put SKYN® Link into action, users will sign into their Facebook accounts and a list of all their Facebook friends will generate. Users then scroll through the list to select the friends they might want to "Hook Up" with. If the friend doesn't already have the SKYN Link app, you can invite them anonymously or through social networks. All anonymous invites are sent from a SKYN Link email address, noting that someone is asking to "Hook Up," and advising the invitee how to download the app to find out if there is a connection. If someone you chose to "Hook Up" with also selects you, a private chat will open, allowing an open dialogue to take your Facebook friendship to the next level.
Unlike similar location-based apps, SKYN Link helps users build meaningful relationships with someone within their circle of known friends, which should hopefully lead to a deeper relationship. The app is also unique in that it offers complete anonymity; the Facebook friend you request to "Hook Up" with will never know you selected them unless they select you as well.
"Having revolutionized the condom aisle in 2008 with the release of SKYN, the first polyisoprene condom on the market, Ansell sought to create a corresponding social application that is as innovative as the SKYN brand itself," said Carol Carrozza, VP of Sales & Marketing, North America for Ansell, the makers of SKYN. "SKYN Link encourages users to take a risk and make a real connection with an existing Facebook friend, while promoting safety and responsibility for any sexual encounters that may result."
The app, created by Bethink, is now available in Apple's App Store and on Google Play, and is compatible with iOS and Android devices. In addition to the SKYN® Link app, a mobile website (www.skynlink.com) is available to anyone with Internet access and a Facebook account, as well as Internet-enabled cell phones.
LifeStyles SKYN was the first clinically-approved polyisoprene condom, and Ansell is proud to be the only condom company in the U.S. to provide this innovative contraceptive in a range of styles and sizes, including SKYN Original, SKYN Large, SKYN Extra Lubricated and SKYN Intense Feel, with additional line extensions on the horizon.
The next generation of condoms, SKYN was designed to give condom buyers what they desire most— comfort and sensitivity. Widely known as "the closest thing to wearing nothing," SKYN provides greater sensation and more comfort than other non-latex and even latex condoms on the market today, as ascertained by clinical trials of the condom. Research has also shown that 66% of condom users convert to SKYN once they've experienced the unique benefits of polyisoprene, a softer material that more easily adapts to the form of its wearer.
All LifeStyles Condoms are triple tested to meet the highest U.S. reliability standards. SKYN Condoms are available at a wide range of big box retailers, drugstores, grocery and convenience stores across the country. Products are also available at online retailers such as drugstore.com, soap.com and amazon.com.

Gartner predicts that the bulk of new IT spending by 2016 will be for cloud platforms and applications and that nearly half of large enterprises will have cloud deployments by the end of 2017. The benefits of the cloud may be clear for applications that can tolerate brief periods of downtime, but for critical applications like SQL Server, Oracle and SAP, companies need a strategy for HA and DR protection. While traditional SAN-based clusters are not possible in these environments, SANless cluste...

Hardware will never be more valuable than on the day it hits your loading dock. Each day new servers are not deployed to production the business is losing money. While Moore's Law is typically cited to explain the exponential density growth of chips, a critical consequence of this is rapid depreciation of servers. The hardware for clustered systems (e.g., Hadoop, OpenStack) tends to be significant capital expenses. In his session at Big Data Expo, Mason Katz, CTO and co-founder of StackIQ, disc...

Container frameworks, such as Docker, provide a variety of benefits, including density of deployment across infrastructure, convenience for application developers to push updates with low operational hand-holding, and a fairly well-defined deployment workflow that can be orchestrated. Container frameworks also enable a DevOps approach to application development by cleanly separating concerns between operations and development teams. But running multi-container, multi-server apps with containers ...

Trove was originally developed around MySQL, whose interfaces are significantly less complicated than those of the Postgres cloud database. In his session at 16th Cloud...
