M2 Research, a market advisory and research firm, has launched Industry VoiceBox, the first research service focused on tracking developer trends. From industry surveys to one-on-one interviews and community discussions, Industry VoiceBox will capture the voice, opinions and critical issues facing game development and technology to assess how these issues impact industry growth.
M2 Research’s first survey from Industry VoiceBox is the Game Developer Survey 2014 (https://www.research.net/s/M2ResearchGameDevSurvey). This survey highlights what types of games developers are building, on what platforms and with which technologies.
Upcoming research surveys will focus on hot industry topics such as monetization trends, rise of the indie games, the future of publishers, free-to-play vs. premium, games for good, serious games and platform development trends.
“Our team is constantly meeting with indie developers, publishers, tool providers and hardware manufacturers to learn how they are innovating," Wanda Meloni, CEO, M2 Research, explains. "We want to highlight the opportunities and trends creators, storytellers and technologists are thinking about at the moment; and help clarify how these subjects are going to impact the market.”
“We believe both the voice of the individual and of the community are important to providing insight as to how the industry is doing and where it may be heading,” continued Meloni. “Industry VoiceBox provides a platform for us to highlight developers on key topics and trends."
M2 Research is collaborating with numerous trade groups and affiliates including a multi-year partnership with the International Game Developer Association (IGDA). This includes the upcoming Developer Satisfaction Survey.
IGDA Executive Director, Kate Edwards, notes, “The games industry is in need of feedback and we look forward to working closely with M2 Research.”
