On March 6, 2014, Alcoa Inc. (Alcoa) announced that it has named Aquilino Paolucci, Vice President of Business Development and Regional Affairs for Latin America, as President of Alcoa Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), effective March 1, 2014. The Company added that Paolucci was also named President of Global Primary Products (GPP) for Latin America and the Caribbean where he will be responsible for all GPP operations in the region. Alcoa informed that he will report to Chairman and CEO Klaus Kleinfeld for the regional role and to GPP Chief Operating Officer Roy Harvey for the GPP role. Newmont  Mining  Corp  Analyst  Notes

On March 11, 2014, Newmont Mining Corp (Newmont) announced the sale of its 5.4% equity interest in ASX-listed Paladin Energy Ltd. (Paladin) via a block sale agreement with UBS Australia. Commenting on the transaction, Randy Engel, Executive Vice President of Strategic Development at the Company stated, "The sale of Paladin will generate over $24 million in cash and reflects Newmont's ongoing strategy to divest non-core assets, some of which are included in the Company's marketable securities portfolio. Newmont will continue to evaluate its holdings and may, from time to time, divest other equity positions and assets under favorable conditions and terms." On March 12, 2014, Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA (Buenaventura) reported that the contractor workers at the Uchucchacua mine began a work stoppage on March 11, 2014.
