MIAMI, March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- By Becky Guerro
A recent announcement from health researcher Blaine Tucker may offer hope to people struggling to control diabetes. Tucker says that he will soon publish an in-depth report detailing the progress of his research into the links between diabetes and diet.
"I want to make sure that this report is very accessible, this is information that everyone needs to be able to understand," says Blaine Tucker. "I put a lot of effort into understanding and digesting a wide range of medical reports and scientific studies, and the end result is this report, which makes the information out there easy to understand for everyone."
According to Tucker, current research on diabetes shows that while medication is helpful and sometimes necessary for controlling diabetes, the most significant factor in dealing with the disease is control over diet.
"There is a point where medicine can only do so much," says Blaine Tucker. "Diabetes medication is extremely important and is a worthwhile area of research, but if a person's diet s completely out of control, then medicine will not work, no matter how powerful it is."
A major theme in Blaine Tucker's report is that people struggling with or trying to prevent diabetes must be extremely aware of their intake of macro-nutrients and dietary fiber. The report also cautions against excessive consumption of processed foods and animal fats.
Blaine Tucker stated: "Current research has not been able to establish an optimal macro-nutrient ratio for all people. It seems like the best ratio of fat to carbohydrates to protein varies from person to person and depends on factors such as genetics and activity level. However, it is very important for individuals to monitor their diet to discover what works best for them."
Blaine Tucker's report on preventing and controlling diabetes will be available for free download from his website by the end of April.
