RadioShack Customers Receive $50 Off the Smartphone Simply by Pre-ordering

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RadioShack will launch pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S® 5 in stores Friday, March 21, offering customers who pre-order $50 off this cutting-edge smartphone*.

Pre-ordered phones will be available for pick up starting in mid-April. Pre-orders are subject to availability, which may vary by wireless carrier.

RadioShack customers can also save $75 to $300 on a Samsung Galaxy S 5, when trading in a select working smartphone through our Trade & Save program.

In addition, RadioShack is the perfect place to find accessories for the new Galaxy S 5, including the new Samsung Gear smartwatches, which will debut with the Galaxy S 5 online and in select stores.

  • At home: Pair the Galaxy S 5 with a Belkin WeMo Switch to control lights, speakers or other electronics.
  • In the office: Use the Leef Bridge 3.0 Flash Drive to transfer files from a computer to the Galaxy S 5. Use the phone's Download Booster feature to instantly view documents.
  • At a party: Use the Galaxy S 5 to take control of th­e music selection on a Deck by SOL REPUBLIC Bluetooth speaker in heist mode.
  • On the run: Connect a wearable device, such as the Gear 2 or Gear Fit, to the Galaxy S 5's S Health app and track fitness activity. The S 5 also has a built-in heart-rate monitor.

RadioShack customers can also protect their Galaxy S 5 with RadioShack's "IT Happens" program, a best-in-class protection plan, which covers accidental damage.

Samsung Galaxy S 5 Features

The Samsung Galaxy S 5, available in various colors, includes several new features and tools that benefit the user while keeping the sleek Galaxy S design. The 16-megapixel camera offers the world's fastest autofocus speed – up to 0.3 seconds – and an enhanced interface for easy photo editing and sharing. The Galaxy S 5 also includes the upgraded S Health 3.0 app with a built-in heart-rate monitor for personal-fitness tracking.

The Galaxy S 5 is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, which means the smartphone can be immersed in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes. Another security feature of the phone is a fingerprint scanner for biometric locking and app purchasing.
