Lytx Announces DriveCam Safety and Compliance Solution Exclusively for Trucking

Lytx, Inc. (formerly DriveCam Inc.), a global leader in delivering driver safety and compliance solutions, today announced that its award-winning1 DriveCam Powered by Lytx Program now includes a solution set designed to meet the unique needs of truckload carriers, helping them to significantly reduce costs, increase safety, and gain a competitive advantage.

The Company’s new trucking solution is specifically tailored to address the challenges of over- the-road trucking, including limited face-to-face interaction between managers and drivers, long-haul highway driving, and a challenging driver retention environment. To maximize bottom-line results within this environment, the DriveCam trucking solution uses the Lytx Engineto simplify the enormous amounts of data available to a prioritized set of actionable insights that drive improved performance.

Key elements of the DriveCam trucking solution include:

  • Performance-Based Privacy Options – in a highly competitive market that demands the most experienced and professional drivers, the new performance-based privacy options will leverage the Company’s unique and analytically-derived Lytx Safety Score to offer an outside-only video option for high-performing drivers, while maintaining an ability to take advantage of our exception-based dual-view alternative.
  • Coaching Flexibility – the DriveCam Online® platform will be available through iPad®, iPhone®, and mobile communication systems, with enhanced workflow to provide drivers with timely visibility into their performance and enable self- or remote coaching as necessary. Tutorials to improve the effectiveness of coaching sessions with drivers will also be available online.
  • ADAS Integration – will allow carriers to optimize their existing ADAS technology by identifying the root-cause behaviors behind lane departure and forward collision warnings in order to provide coaching opportunities for the over-the-road trucking environment.
  • Posted Speed Triggering – captures data and video as drivers exceed posted speed limits, providing insight into not only the speeding event, but the greater context of the driver’s behavior and surrounding environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance – helps carriers meet regulatory compliance needs and improve CSA scores using the RAIR® Compliance Services integrated web-based system. The suite of services includes management of driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, and driver qualifications, all united by a comprehensive CSA management system.

“Lytx is dedicated to the needs of the trucking industry and its drivers, which is why we created a solution specifically for them,” said Jim Angel, general manager, trucking for Lytx. “These features address the unique program needs for delivering value to the OTR segment and trucking in general, while understanding that drivers are number one on the list for any carrier’s success. Our trucking solution makes it easy for carriers to gain a competitive edge in a highly competitive industry.”

DriveCam powered by Lytx improves safety by combining video with predictive analytics, real-time driver feedback and coaching, resulting in significant reductions in collision-related costs and improved miles per gallon (MPG). Using the patented Lytx Engine, the DriveCam Program identifies and prioritizes risk so the carrier can focus on the drivers who need the most coaching. The end-to-end workflow makes managing the program easy and drives results by tracking both driving and coaching improvement. An in-vehicle device captures driving behavior events, which are reviewed and scored by trained professionals, and then passed on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers.

Fleets manage the DriveCam Program through the DriveCam Online web-based platform. With 24/7 secure access, DriveCam Online provides the important information fleets need to monitor fleet risk and prioritize what's needed to maximize a safety program, along with providing the necessary tools for coaching drivers to improve their driving behavior.

When an enterprise builds a hybrid IaaS cloud connecting its data center to one or more public clouds, security is often a major topic along with the other challenges involved. Security is closely intertwined with the networking choices made for the hybrid cloud. Traditional networking approaches for building a hybrid cloud try to kludge together the enterprise infrastructure with the public cloud. Consequently this approach requires risky, deep "surgery" including changes to firewalls, subnets...
Move from reactive to proactive cloud management in a heterogeneous cloud infrastructure. In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Manoj Khabe, Innovative Solution-Focused Transformation Leader at Vicom Computer Services, Inc., will show how to replace a help desk-centric approach with an ITIL-based service model and service-centric CMDB that’s tightly integrated with an event and incident management platform. Learn how to expand the scope of operations management to service management. He will al...

The true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) lies not just in the data, but through the services that protect the data, perform the analysis and present findings in a usable way. With many IoT elements rooted in traditional IT components, Big Data and IoT isn’t just a play for enterprise. In fact, the IoT presents SMBs with the prospect of launching entirely new activities and exploring innovative areas. CompTIA research identifies several areas where IoT is expected to have the greatest impac...
2015 predictions circa 1970: houses anticipate our needs and adapt, city infrastructure is citizen and situation aware, office buildings identify and preprocess you. Today smart buildings have no such collective conscience, no shared set of fundamental services to identify, predict and synchronize around us. LiveSpace and M2Mi are changing that. LiveSpace Smart Environment devices deliver over the M2Mi IoT Platform real time presence, awareness and intent analytics as a service to local connecte...
High-performing enterprise Software Quality Assurance (SQA) teams validate systems that are ready for use - getting most actively involved as components integrate and form complete systems. These teams catch and report on defects, making sure the customer gets the best software possible. SQA teams have leveraged automation and virtualization to execute more thorough testing in less time - bringing Dev and Ops together, ensuring production readiness. Amazon and Google have built software-defined data centers (SDDCs) that deliver massively scalable services with great efficiency. Yet, building SDDCs has proven to be a near impossibility for companies without hyper-scale resources. In his session at 15th Cloud Expo, David Cauthron, CTO and Founder of NIMBOXX, highlighted how a mid-sized manufacturer of global industrial equipment bridged the gap from virtualization to software-defined services, streamlining operations and costs while connect...
Container technology is sending shock waves through the world of cloud computing. Heralded as the 'next big thing,' containers provide software owners a consistent way to package their software and dependencies while infrastructure operators benefit from a standard way to deploy and run them. Containers present new challenges for tracking usage due to their dynamic nature. They can also be deployed to bare metal, virtual machines and various cloud platforms. How do software owners track the usag...
The Industrial Internet revolution is now underway, enabled by connected machines and billions of devices that communicate and collaborate. The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. Some talk about a DevOps culture but then reference activities that could lead to culture change and there are those that talk about culture change as a set of behaviors that need to be adopted by those in IT. There is no question that businesses successful in adopting a DevOps mindset have seen departmental culture change, ...

The Internet of Things is tied together with a thin strand that is known as time. Coincidentally, at the core of nearly all data analytics is a timestamp. When working with time series data there are a few core principles that everyone should consider, especially across datasets where time is the common boundary. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Jim Scott, Director of Enterprise Strategy & Architecture at MapR Technologies, discussed single-value, geo-spatial, and log time series dat...
