MAKATI, PHILIPPINES and MANCHESTER, NH -- (Marketwired) -- 03/23/14 -- Newforma, a project information management (PIM) software company integrating people, projects and processes to transform building and infrastructure project delivery, is pleased to announce that Rchitects, Inc., has implemented Newforma software. The firm, founded by Jose Pedro "Bong" Recio and respected for its work in high-rise and mixed-use building design, says Newforma software has improved overall efficiency, increased revenue and minimized risk, which the firm's production head says increases the company's ability to do more work.
Initially, the firm's leaders were looking for a software solution to help with document management and project team collaboration. When they discovered Newforma's capabilities in these key areas, as well as a variety of other work processes specific to architects, they knew they'd found the right solution for their firm.
Rchitects, Inc.'s Frederick Clemente, production team head, explains, "It's clear that whoever designed Newforma understands the way architects work. Its ease of use really separated Newforma from other solutions we considered. We set out to find a solution that would help us track versions of drawings and find email and documents in order to improve our response time to clients and fellow project team members. Newforma has helped us achieve this and so much more. With improved overall efficiency, not only have we improved our processes and enhanced our client service, we have improved productivity to be able to take on more projects that bring in additional revenue without sacrificing our commitment to high quality design."
Using Newforma software, Rchitects has replaced cumbersome, less secure systems for sharing information such as FTP and Dropbox, neither of which provided the ability to track if recipients received or downloaded the files. Newforma allows project team members to share information with no file size limitations and a verifiable audit trail that is captured automatically.
Rchitects has granted its clients access to key project information via Newforma Project Center's web access function, giving clients transparency and control that simply was not possible before.
Newforma software is not limited to enterprise and web applications. Newforma mobile apps enable Rchitects personnel to access project information on the go. For example, they have stopped printing drawings to take on site to guide the punch list process. Instead, they consult the Newforma Plans app for the latest drawings and specifications, and generate punch list items from the app.
"The construction market in the Philippines is expected to grow substantially in 2014," said Newforma Chief Executive Officer Ian Howell. "This creates a tremendous opportunity for firms based in the region, like Rchitects, Inc., to take on more projects with complete confidence in their ability to manage the extra fee generating work successfully. It's not just the ability to do more faster; it's the ability to leverage the unique capabilities of Newforma to make transparency and team-wide accountability the norm that helps our customers like Rchitects achieve greater profitability."

Cloud is not a commodity. And no matter what you call it, computing doesn’t come out of the sky. It comes from physical hardware inside brick and mortar facilities connected by hundreds of miles of networking cable. And no two clouds are built the same way. SoftLayer gives you the highest performing cloud infrastructure available. One platform that takes data centers around the world that are full of the widest range of cloud computing options, and then integrates and automates everything. J...

With the arrival of the Big Data revolution, a data professional is expected to master a broad spectrum of complex domains including data processing, mathematics, programming languages, machine learning techniques, and business knowledge. While this mastery is undoubtedly important, this narrow focus on tool usage has divorced many from the imagination required to solve real-world problems. As the demand for analysis increases, the data science community must transform from tool experts to "data...

The truth is, today’s databases are anything but agile – they are effectively static repositories that are cumbersome to work with, difficult to change, and cannot keep pace with application demands. Performance suffers as a result, and it takes far longer than it should to deliver new features and capabilities needed to make your organization competitive. As your application and business needs change, data repositories and structures get outmoded rapidly, resulting in increased work for applica...

Docker offers a new, lightweight approach to application portability. Applications are shipped using a common container format and managed with a high-level API. Their processes run within isolated namespaces that abstract the operating environment independently of the distribution, versions, network setup, and other details of this environment. This "containerization" has often been nicknamed "the new virtualization." But containers are more than lightweight virtual machines. Beyond their small...

In the consumer IoT, everything is new, and the IT world of bits and bytes holds sway. But industrial and commercial realms encompass operational technology (OT) that has been around for 25 or 50 years. This grittier, pre-IP, more hands-on world has much to gain from Industrial IoT (IIoT) applications and principles. But adding sensors and wireless connectivity won’t work in environments that demand unwavering reliability and performance. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Ron Sege, CEO of Echelon...

Enthusiasm for the Internet of Things has reached an all-time high. In 2013 alone, venture capitalists spent more than $1 billion dollars investing in the IoT space. With "smart" appliances and devices, IoT covers wearable smart devices, cloud services to hardware companies. Nest, a Google company, detects temperatures inside homes and automatically adjusts it by tracking its user's habit. These technologies are quickly developing and with it come challenges such as bridging infrastructure gaps,...

The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...
