Mangopack Partners With SafetyChain Software to Automate Food Safety & Quality Assurance Programs

Food Safety Chain Management Technology Will Position Mangopack for Best-in-Class FDA / GFSI Compliance and Continuous Improvement

SAN RAFAEL, CA--(Marketwired - March 24, 2014) - SafetyChain Software -- the leader in realtime Food Safety Chain Management Systems (FSCMS) that help customers save time, save money and increase efficiencies for food safety and quality compliance -- is pleased to announce that Mangopack, the leading fresh cut processor spearheading the market on extended shelf life products, has selected SafetyChain Software as its partner to automate safety and quality assurance (FSQA) programs.

Mangopack will be using SafetyChain's FSCMS, SafetyChain for Food, to:

  • Automate supplier compliance for its approved vendor programs
  • Electronically capture food safety and quality data at the earliest point possible -- including from the plant floor using mobile devices
  • Leverage realtime analysis of food safety and quality data-to-specs -- with alerts when non-conformances are detected -- to promote timely corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Create a centralized database of its FSQA data for trending, continuous improvement and audit readiness
  • Support Mangopack's Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliance programs as well as its regulatory (FDA) and customer compliance requirements
  • Position Mangopack for compliance with FDA's Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA)

Lilia Rivera, Mangopack's Manager of Compliance and Quality Control, expressed the company's vision for its FSCMS project with SafetyChain, explaining, "Here at Mangopack, our goal is to always instill customer confidence by being best-in-class when it comes to food safety and quality. We therefore wanted to get away from time-consuming, error-prone manual processes, and spend our time analyzing, vs. entering, FSQA data. SafetyChain for Food will help us not only monitor, verify and validate data, but also access a centralized repository of FSQA information -- spanning all of our programs, suppliers and more -- to help us more easily trend performance to continuously improve processes."

Mangopack selected SafetyChain for Food due to its broad and rich functionality, affordable cloud-based pricing, flexible configurability, very positive customer references and responsiveness.

"Today, more and more food and beverage companies recognize that automation not only creates efficiencies by eliminating manual processes and helping to prevent, vs. react to, food safety issues -- but also provides high value by promoting continuous improvement -- something that has proven difficult with paper-based systems. Because FSCMS automation provides food safety and quality efficiencies along all points in a company's value chain, it is being adopted in rapidly growing numbers. We applaud Mangopack's vision in leveraging the leading FSCMS, SafetyChain for Food, to create an industry-leading, automated FSQA platform, and we're very excited to welcome them to the SafetyChain customer community," said Barbara Levin, SafetyChain Senior Vice President & Co-founder.

As the world moves from DevOps to NoOps, application deployment to the cloud ought to become a lot simpler. However, applications have been architected with a much tighter coupling than it needs to be which makes deployment in different environments and migration between them harder.
