Milwaukee County’s General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) has chosen Telos Identity Management Solutions, LLC (Telos® ID) to provide Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-approved Designated Aviation Channeling (DAC) services for processing aviation worker background checks.
“Mitchell Airport has a very dedicated staff in the Airport Badging Office who are diligent in ensuring that aviation workers applying for, or renewing, their airport credentials are properly and efficiently processed in concert with federal regulations,” said Airport Security Manager Michael Keegan. “Telos ID’s channeling service streamlines the airport’s ability to vet and badge each of those aviation workers with efficiency and flexibility.”
Aviation channeling services are used to submit aviation worker information to TSA to conduct background checks that are required for individuals working at U.S. commercial airports. TSA requires assessments to be conducted for all aviation workers with access to the secure areas of an airport, including baggage workers, ground maintenance workers and restaurant and retail employees.
Telos ID’s DAC service lets U.S. commercial airports more efficiently run their background check and badging operations. It meets TSA and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations for handling personally identifiable information, and as a secure Web-based solution, it allows users to securely access the system wherever they have an Internet connection. Telos ID also provides additional customer service options and more visibility and flexibility for its customers.
The growing list of customers benefiting from Telos ID’s channeling service includes Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA), Bob Hope Airport (Burbank, California) (BUR), Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Charleston International Airport (CHS), Yeager Airport (Charleston, W.Va.)
