Servcorp Expands Footprint in Asia by adding The Metropolis to portfolio of Grade-A Offices in Singapore

top-notch services - from frontline to IT, local to global

Singapore, March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Servcorp, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and the world's leading provider of executive serviced offices and virtual offices with 140 floors in 52 cities across 21 countries, today announced that it is extending its footprint in Asia by adding 14,000sq ft (1,300sqm) of additional serviced Grade-A office space at The Metropolis in Buona Vista, Singapore, to its growing serviced office space.

The new Servcorp Metropolis location boasts scenic views over Singapore's bustling hi-tech business park that is one-north.  It will have 36 fully managed office suites and meeting rooms.  The center offers total service facilities from professionally-trained receptionist and secretarial support, to a highly sophisticated information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure.

Benefit of prime location and scalable space

Mr Marcus Moufarrige, COO of Servcorp, said, "Servcorp has always been bullish about the Singapore economy. This city was our first place of choice when we began expanding outside our headquarters in Australia."

"The new Buona Vista area is slated to be Singapore's foremost hub for innovation and R&D. It is already known as a technology and bioscience hub, and a number of media corporations are headquartered here. Servcorp has the facilities to support these companies if they require extra space, as well as start-ups and entrepreneurs looking to be based here, whether it is for Serviced Offices, Virtual Offices or Meeting Rooms," he added.

This is Servcorp's fifth location in Singapore. The other four are at Battery Road, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 2, Suntec Tower 3 and PSA Building. Servcorp plans to build Singapore into a bigger hub. The country already has the biggest number of office locations in the region.

Mr Moufarrige continued, "As businesses make Singapore their location choice, Servcorp's executive suites provide the ideal first stop so that these businesses can do away with the expense and risk of long-term leases or capital expenditures."

Cost efficiency is one of the major benefits for every client who takes up a Servcorp serviced or virtual office. With no down payments, cost overheads, redundancy of usage of space, or having to employ supporting staff, a Servcorp client can save between 30-50% of the costs it would take to set up a traditional office space and yet is able to run his or her business professionally. Servcorp also has the most flexible leases in the industry, starting from one month.

Top-notch services – from frontline to IT, local to global

Servcorp (http://www.servcorp.com.sg) is differentiated by its Grade-A services, which are notably more sophisticated than the industry standard. For a start, there is a dedicated multilingual receptionist at a chosen location – and not from a call centre – who will answer calls in the company's name, and then transferred anywhere in the world. There is also access to a multilingual personal assistant for regular or last-minute tasks, and mail and courier management, just to name but a few items on its extensive list of business services that a client can call upon at any time.

Mr Moufarrige commented, "The company has invested US$50million (S$63million) to build a Global IT Network that guaranteed 99.99% uptime and the fastest Internet access in the industry. This is to done so that all our products and services bring value to our clients."

Through the network, clients have an online platform to book meeting rooms, change phone answering instructions, and access international business services and facilities. Among Servcorp's self-developed propriety software programs are the Global Dial system (in which calls between a company's offices in different cities in the world will all be regarded as local calls) and the "Find Me Follow Me" call routing function, an advanced, round-the-clock service that ensures a client will never miss a call wherever he or she is in the world.

There is also a 24/7 Global Operations Centre that is supported by a 100-strong IT staff – all managed in-house and not outsourced– who can attend to clients' IT needs within an hour during working hours and within six hours after office hours.  All meeting rooms have ready access to broadband Internet and video-conferencing facilities.

Global connections

Every client also gets to enjoy Servcorp benefits worldwide. These include worldwide access to boardrooms, meeting rooms and day offices; complimentary access to any executive business lounge; and complimentary use of a suite office in any other city (subject to location's terms and availability).

In the first half of FY 2014, Servcorp reported higher revenues of A$118.52million (S$106.5m), up 15% compared to the same period a year ago. Net profit after tax for the period was A$15.06m.

We have heard that the best interface is no interface. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Chris Matthieu, Co-Founder & CTO at Octoblu, Inc., will discuss how thes...
Last week, while in San Francisco, I used the Uber app and service four times. All four experiences were great, although one of the drivers stopped for 30 seconds and then left as I was walking up to the car. He must have realized I was a blogger. None the less, the next car was just a minute away and I suffered no pain. In this article, my colleague, Ved Sen, Global Head, Advisory Services Social, Mobile and Sensors at Cognizant shares his experiences and insights.
We are reaching the end of the beginning with WebRTC and real systems using this technology have begun to appear. One challenge that faces every WebRTC deployment (in some form or another) is identity management. For example, if you have an existing service – possibly built on a variety of different PaaS/SaaS offerings – and you want to add real-time communications you are faced with a challenge relating to user management, authentication, authorization, and validation. Service providers will want to use their existing identities, but these will have credentials already that are (hopefully) ir...
Can call centers hang up the phones for good? Intuitive Solutions did. WebRTC enabled this contact center provider to eliminate antiquated telephony and desktop phone infrastructure with a pure web-based solution, allowing them to expand beyond brick-and-mortar confines to a home-based agent model. It also ensured scalability and better service for customers, including MUY! Companies, one of the country's largest franchise restaurant companies with 232 Pizza Hut locations. This is one example of WebRTC adoption today, but the potential is limitless when powered by IoT. Attendees will learn rea...

While great strides have been made relative to the video aspects of remote collaboration, audio technology has basically stagnated. Typically all audio is mixed to a single monaural stream and emanates from a single point, such as a speakerphone or a speaker associated with a video monitor. This leads to confusion and lack of understanding among participants especially regarding who is actually speaking. Spatial teleconferencing introduces the concept of acoustic spatial separation between conference participants in three dimensional space. This has been shown to significantly improve comprehe...
The Internet of Things is tied together with a thin strand that is known as time. Coincidentally, at the core of nearly all data analytics is a timestamp.
