Brownstein Group Opens Kosher Winery

Marc Brownstein Announces His Departure From the Agency to Oversee Production of a Limited-Edition 'Liberty Kvell' Kosher Wine

PHILADELPHIA ,PA--(Marketwired - April 01, 2014) - Brownstein Group, the longest-running independent brand communication firm in Philadelphia, today announced it has opened its own kosher winery and will begin production of a 'Liberty Kvell' label, described as a sweet red wine bottled under strict Rabbinical supervision. Marc Brownstein, President and CEO of Brownstein Group, will take a year-long sabbatical from the agency to focus on the new operation.

Since 1964, Brownstein Group has excelled in the fields of advertising and public relations. The agency now joins an industry trend moving away from traditional advertising and towards the creation of artisanal liquors, despite an overwhelming lack of demand.

Analysts have lauded Brownstein Group's timing, citing the continued steady growth of its competition. It has been speculated that advertising liquor pioneer Steve Grasse, inventor of the successful spirit Sailor Jerry, is actively trying to increase supply by expanding his distillery empire to New Hampshire. Red Tettemer O'Connell + Partners meanwhile has spent the past quarter re-purposing its TuB Gin as a signature cologne for teenagers, called NecK.

Berny Brownstein, Founder and Chairman at Brownstein Group, has taken full responsibility for the agency's late addition to the market, but is confident their new kosher wine will resonate.

"We were too focused on clients during our first 50 years and I won't be making that mistake again," said Brownstein. "Kosher wine sells itself; we don't need a fancy video. This isn't your bubbe's house. Liberty Kvell is punk rock -- young, hip and comes in flavors like purple."

The word "kvell" (pronounced "K-VELL") is Yiddish and means "to be delighted." Berny Brownstein, who recently converted to Judaism, felt the name Liberty Kvell adequately captured the blend of his new faith and his longtime hometown of Philadelphia. Brownstein Group timed the release of the first Liberty Kvell vintage to coincide with the agency's 50thAnniversary and the vineyard is located on the roof of their headquarters at 215 S. Broad Street. Tours and tastings are scheduled to begin in early summer and will be led by Marc Brownstein, the former President and now Chief Vintner of Brownstein Group.

"It was never my plan to remain at Brownstein Group for more than a few months," said Marc Brownstein, Chief Vintner and Cork Master of Brownstein Group. "Despite years of profitable growth and successful branding campaigns, I never felt truly satisfied. Now that we have the vineyard on our roof, I'm finally able to combine the two great passions in my life -- advertising and sweet wine."

The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...
Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...

How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...
