DALLAS, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- AirVault today announced that Virgin America has licensed the AirVault Mx Records Management Solution to provide the carrier with a new, web-based aircraft maintenance record management system. The cloud-computing service offers the latest technology for managing the aircraft maintenance records for Virgin America's expanding, all new Airbus A320-family fleet, delivering increased efficiency, while enhancing safety and compliance.
Commenting on the agreement, Virgin America, Director of Quality Assurance, Nick Brohm, stated, "Providing an inventive systems approach was a key driver of our decision. AirVault's experience with airlines around the world offered Virgin America a framework of best practices specific to aircraft maintenance records that was easy to configure and integrate with our current aircraft engineering systems."
Virgin America is the U.S. domestic airline known for its top-notch service and three beautifully designed classes of service. The airline has swept the major travel awards since its 2007 launch, including being named "Best Domestic Airline" in both Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards and Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards for the past six years.
AirVault CEO, John Oldham, said, "We are proud of Virgin America's choice of AirVault as their mission-critical information management service for aircraft maintenance. AirVault shares Virgin America's vision of innovation and providing premier service, pushing the use of advanced technology to improve their aircraft maintenance operations and environmental sustainability. AirVault's cloud-computing technology offered Virgin America significant competitive advantages to manage their fleet growth, along with the providing reductions in computer processing equipment and power consumption over traditional IT systems."
Cloud computing has emerged as the perfect systems architecture for carriers to manage their maintenance operations and communications in harmony with their worldwide supply chain, lessors, and regulatory authorities. Airlines today are seeking technologies that can support the broader task of managing a dynamic network of internal and external operations, while more effectively maintaining the tracking and retrieval capabilities for regulatory compliance. Virgin America recognized AirVault's ability to provide a global conduit to better manage the bi-directional processes of managing aircraft maintenance records files for a more mobile workforce, in synchronization with their internal operations and maintenance partners.
