Strong Customer Demand Fuels Skyera Global Expansion

Need for affordable, highly efficient all-flash storage propels Silicon Valley- based enterprise solid-state storage provider to global scene

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Skyera Inc., founded by an executive and engineering team with unsurpassed backgrounds in the solid-state storage and networking arenas, today announced a dramatic corporate global expansion to help satisfy the strong customer demand for its flash-based storage systems.

Skyera Inc.

Demand for Skyera's purpose-built, vertically integrated new storage platform is at an all-time high, as it delivers unprecedented density and efficiency to mitigate the expense of explosive data growth.  Since inception, Skyera has quickly grown operations from its Silicon Valley origins to include other domestic and international regions. In the last year alone, the company has doubled its headcount to accelerate R & D efforts, while establishing a strong sales presence on the east coast of the United States.  Plans are to double its sales and marketing employee count in the near future to keep up with customer activities.

Last year's $51 million Series B funding round helped accelerate Skyera's rapid growth by driving broader adoption of its enterprise solid-state storage solutions.  With 42 percent of product revenue now contributed from outside the U.S., the company is in the process of securing additional funding to meet its global demand by expanding beyond the Americas into the EMEA region and throughout Pacific Rim territories.

"We have seen a remarkable uptick in interest for our enterprise solid-state storage products from around the globe in the past year, and we eagerly anticipate meeting that demand through continued growth throughout the world," said Radoslav Danilak, CEO of Skyera. "By expanding our staffing levels and physical presence in markets everywhere, we are poised to reap tremendous success from organizations desperately in need of the performance, density, and price parity with hard disk drives that our all-flash arrays provide."

Skyera has changed the enterprise storage dynamic significantly with its groundbreaking new storage platform that combines affordability, performance, and efficiency. Using an advanced understanding of NAND flash memory and controller design, Skyera manipulates the way it writes data to minimize the degradation of NAND flash and increase durability without increasing costs. Skyera uses minimum overprovisioned capacity combined with hardware-based deduplication, compression, and flash-optimized RAID-SE to deliver the best performance and life expectancy per flash cell at the most cost-effective capacity per dollar.
