MUNICH and AMSTERDAM, April 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CMC Consulting Group, a leading international healthcare strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions advisory firm, has been acquired by three of the leading directors of the Group (Benjamin Chambon, Ernst Elhorst and Gabriele Brambilla). The management team acquired 100% of the business from the founders Dr. Claus and Dr. Gerhard Michelfelder through a Netherlands based holding and will sharpen the focus of the new firm on international strategy and cross border M&A advisory for its Pharma and Medtech clients.
Claus Michelfelder commented: "In the last 15 years Gerhard and I have developed CMC as an international group focused on strategy and M&A. We are proud to pass the responsibility to younger dynamic managers with whom we have enjoyed working with in the past and will continue to work with in the future."
Gabriele Brambilla, appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Group, remarked: "Having driven and experienced the growth of the Group, Benjamin, Ernst and I are thrilled to be given the chance to lead this firm into the next stage of its development. Our objective is to accelerate the firm's growth by attracting key talent internationally and acquiring smaller firms in targeted regions. Our intent is to leverage our substantial expertise in specific healthcare verticals and continue to strengthen our strategy and M&A advisory services. The leadership and vision of our founder, Claus Michelfelder, has enabled us to grow internationally at an impressive pace over the last four years. We now intend to build upon that established platform, and double that growth in the next 5 years."
As part of the transaction, CMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin Chambon as Chief Operating Officer of the Group and Ernst Elhorst as Chief Strategy Officer. Nico Schmidt-Weidemann will become Managing Director of CMC's German operations.
