Telepin Software Selected by Panama's #1 Operator to Power Movil Cash

OTTAWA, CANADA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/04/14 -- Telepin Software, a leading provider of mobile money transaction platforms, today announced that it has been selected by Cable & Wireless Panama (CWP), the largest mobile operator in Panama, to provide the infrastructure for Movil Cash. The roadmap for this innovative mobile transaction platform includes a complete Mobile Financial Services (MFS) deployment, delivering digital stored value for access to services for both banked and unbanked subscribers.

The complete Movil Cash system is offered throughout CWP's storefronts as well as other authorized agents, and is able to feature electronic airtime top-ups, local money transfer via peer-to-peer transactions, and will expand to bill payments and local mobile money transfers. The platform includes a complete registration system for agents, via mobile application that aids in the registration process and adhere to KYC regulations.

"Movil Cash is a pivotal service for CWP. CWP continues to take a leading role in providing key services for our mobile subscribers as well as transforming our business to serve additional sectors of the market," said Luis Stanziola of Cable & Wireless Panama.

Telepin's mobile financial software products provide mobile operators the ability to deliver robust financial services offerings to their subscriber and merchant customers. Telepin's software plugs seamlessly into existing mobile infrastructure, leveraging the investments already made in charging systems, replenishment systems, and value added service delivery platforms. Traffic on Telepin-powered networks exceeds 1,500 TPS (transactions per second). That capacity is delivering over 43 million transactions every day by all Telepin platforms deployed in its operators.

"Cable and Wireless Panama's deployment rounds out our presence around the world in over 40 active deployments and will be a premier success story in Latin America," said Vincent Kadar, President of Telepin Software. "As mobile operators expand their businesses to include financial services, mobile subscribers will soon benefit from the increased security, convenience, and accessibility with using a mobile wallet as a payment mechanism."

Telepin will be participating at the upcoming Mobile Money & Digital Payments Africa, taking place May 20-22 in Johannesburg South Africa.

Why does developer experience matters, what makes for a great developer experience and what is the relationship between developer experience and the broader field of user experience? Software developers are gaining more influence over the purchase decisions of technologies with which they must build on and with which they must integrate. For example, the success of Amazon Web Services, Heroku and MongoDB has been driven primarily by individual software developers choosing to use these tools, ra...
The cloud has transformed how we think about software quality. Instead of preventing failures, we must focus on automatic recovery from failure.
