Charlotte, NC Hotel Strengthens Its Leadership Team With Two New Members

Decades' Worth of Experience Promise Great Things for the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel

CHARLOTTE, NC -- (Marketwired) -- 04/04/14 -- While there are many compelling attributes that staff can bring to the table, nothing quite trumps experience. But when experience is matched with those other valuable traits like innovation, enthusiasm and dedication, the results are the kinds of résumés boasted by the two newest team members at the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel.

Floyd Isley and Nancy Obstler have both cultivated distinguished careers among Charlotte, NC hotels. From opening hotels, to helming catering and sales departments, Mr. Isley and Ms. Obstler have seen and done it all when it comes to hotel management. So when Mr. Isley joined this Charlotte, NC Douglas Airport hotel as the new Director of Sales, and when Ms. Obstler joined as the new General Manager, staff and guests alike had reason to rejoice.

Mr. Isley's arrival on February 8, 2014 was not his first of his several positions within John Q. Hammons hotel group. The 20 year industry veteran previously worked at the hotel as the Senior Catering Manager before transferring to the Embassy Suites Charlotte-Concord during its pre-opening. There, he eventually traded in his position as the Director of Catering to become the property's Sales Manager.

This experience, diversified in terms of both properties and roles, bodes well for his position as Director of Sales, especially as it complements the responsibilities of Ms. Obstler. Formerly with the Embassy Suites Charlotte-Concord as well, Ms. Obstler arrived at this property in December 2013 with extensive sales experience. She joined the Embassy Suites during its construction to develop an exceptional and effective sales team that directly impacted the success of the property. However, her roles transcended sales to impact everything from hotel operations, to guest services, to the strategic development of the hotel as a whole. With 25 years of industry experience and 15 years with John Q. Hammons Hotel Group, Ms. Obstler provides impressive insight and expertise to the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel.

With combined experience among hotels in Charlotte, NC that boasts impressive breadth and variety, both Mr. Isley and Ms. Obstler are positioned to lead this hotel to bright new horizons. Already the property stands out among other Charlotte airport hotels for its experienced sales staff, superior service and spacious, suite-style accommodations. With Mr. Isley and Ms. Obstler now onboard, that reputation is poised to only grow brighter.

“Oh, dev is dev and ops is ops, and never the twain shall meet.” With apoloies to Rudyard Kipling and all of his fans, this describes the early state of the two sides of DevOps. Yet the DevOps approach is demanded by cloud computing, as the speed, flexibility, and scalability in today's so-called “Third Platform” must not be hindered by the traditional limitations of software development and deployment.
