SRA Wins $38M Award to Provide IT Support to the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Program

FAIRFAX, Va., April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SRA International, Inc., a leading provider of IT solutions and professional services to government organizations, today announced that the company was awarded a contract to provide IT support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Climate Protection Partnership Division (CPPD) ENERGY STAR program. The five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) is valued at $38 million if all options are exercised.

The ENERGY STAR program furthers CPPD's mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through voluntary programs and public/private partnerships. SRA will partner with CPPD to provide software engineering, systems integration, infrastructure management, website development and maintenance, and technical customer support for the ENERGY STAR program.  The systems created and maintained by SRA allow the program to track and manage relationships with partners, enable submission of certified ENERGY STAR products from third parties through a Qualified Products Exchange, support reporting of ENERGY STAR certified homes, and maintain the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®, an online tool that allows consumers to measure and track energy and water consumption, as well as greenhouse gas emissions.

Paul Nedzbala, Executive Vice President of SRA's Health and Civil Group commented, "We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR program. The combined expertise of the SRA team and our EPA colleagues fosters the development and implementation of innovative technologies that improve the program's reach and effectiveness."

The contract includes a base year plus four option years.
