An Act to Amend Canada's Divorce Act
TORONTO, April 10, 2014 /CNW/ - After extensive public debate, Bill C-560, an Act to amend Canada's Divorce Act to foster equal shared parenting after divorce, will be voted on after second reading debate continues on May 5, 2014.
To clarify the Bill's effect and dispel concerns raised, "Myths and Facts Concerning Bill C-560" has been prepared by Brian Ludmer of LudmerLaw, who helped to draft the Bill.
"Bill C-560 will protect children's rights to primary relationships with both of their parents after divorce and it will reduce the current plague of bitter custody litigation," said Brian Ludmer. "Bill C-560 is responsive to calls for family law reform from the Canadian Senate, the Canadian public and from leading judicial and mental health commentators".
The public is urged to review the attached Myths and Facts document, which has been endorsed by leading shared parenting organizations, and to contact their Member of Parliament to support Bill C-560.
