New Research Shows how Weight Loss Surgery can Combat Uterine Cancer

The work of Dr. Feiz and Associates is in the spotlight once again as a study shows a link between weight loss surgery and a reduction in the risk of developing uterine cancer.

LOS ANGELES, April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In our modern society, obesity is undoubtedly a growing concern, with minor debates on lap band vs. sleeve gastrectomy often taking place over which surgery is more beneficial in combatting the disease. However, one fact has remained clear – when performed by an expert surgeon like Michael Feiz, M.D., F.A.C.S., the results of weight loss treatment can be incredible. Among those seeking surgeries like lap band, Los Angeles-based surgeon Dr. Feiz and his team have consistently proven remarkably effective in reducing risk for conditions like hypertension, sleep apnea, arthritis and other health issues. While the benefits of weight loss surgery are well documented, new data continues to illustrate the invaluable effects it can provide. In fact, earlier this month, FOX News reported that some weight-loss surgery patients can enjoy a reduced risk of acquiring uterine cancer as well as other life-changing effects.

The study, published in the journal Gynecologic Oncology, found that people who have underwent bariatric surgery illustrated a 71% reduction in their risk of developing uterine cancer compared to patients who had not undergone the procedure. Even more impressively, it was found that patients who were able to maintain a normal weight after surgery achieved an 81% reduced risk of developing uterine cancer. The researchers who conducted the study suspect that obesity might be a risk factor in developing the malady – further reinforcing the importance of bariatric surgery from Dr. Feiz and Associates.

To the weight loss surgery experts at the offices of Dr. Feiz and Associates, the results of the study are certainly welcome – though they don't necessarily come as a shock. After all, their team has served Southern California residents with state-of-the-art, life-changing bariatric procedures for a number of years. Led by the renowned Dr. Feiz, they perform treatments like sleeve gastrectomy, the popular and reversible Lap Band, and even a notoriously complex band to sleeve treatment, among other treatments – and always with exquisite results.

While there are a number of surgeons who offer weight loss treatments today, there are many reasons to trust one's procedure to Dr. Feiz. As an active member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgeons, as well as the American College of Surgeons, the renowned surgeon has been recognized by his peers. Furthermore, through a career that boasts countless successful procedures and a zero percent patient mortality rate, Dr. Feiz is equally celebrated by patients who have had their lives extended and improved by his world-class surgical skill.

Dr. Feiz and Associates have been supporting Southern Californians for years with surgical solutions that can transform a patient's health, as well as their self-image in truly positive ways. The acclaimed surgeon hopes that the results of this most recent study will bring even more people to take charge of their health and their lives through bariatric treatment. The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. Some talk about a DevOps culture but then reference activities that could lead to culture change and there are those that talk about culture change as a set of behaviors that need to be adopted by those in IT. There is no question that businesses successful in adopting a DevOps mindset have seen departmental culture change, ...
The Domain Name Service (DNS) is one of the most important components in networking infrastructure, enabling users and services to access applications by translating URLs (names) into IP addresses (numbers). In addition, as more internet-enabled ‘Things' get connected, people will rely on DNS to name and find their fridges, toasters and toilets. Acco...
