UNION CITY, TN -- (Marketwired) -- 04/15/14 -- Todd Hopkins, the founder and CEO of Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Franchise, will be a featured speaker at the 2014 MidSouth Economic and Business Development Summit.
The eighth annual summit will provide an opportunity for area business, government and university leaders to learn more about executive leadership strategies. The conference will be May 13 at Discovery Park of America in Union City, Tenn.
"I'm going to share leadership lessons I've learned in the trenches of entrepreneurship," said Hopkins, who founded Office Pride while earning his master's degree at Butler University in Indianapolis in 1992. "I plan to talk about things like establishing trust and creating a high-trust organization, and about the value of viewing life and business from a positive perspective -- like seeing the glass half-full instead of half-empty.
"It's important to understand why, as a leader, people follow you. The more we understand, the more it helps us to be better leaders."
Hopkins is a graduate of Dyersburg State Community College, which is one of the sponsors of the summit. Other sponsors are the Tennessee Small Business Development Network, the SBA and the University of Tennessee-Martin.
Office Pride's 20-plus years of commercial cleaning franchise experience have served as first-hand market research, helping make them an innovator in the industry under Hopkins' leadership. The CEO is a member of the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) Board of Directors and recently attended the annual global conference of the World Federation of Building Service Contractors in New York City.
