Canada's all-time great Marathoner Lanni Marchant to attend the 2014 Boston Tea Party Team Canada Brunch

TORONTO, April 16, 2014 /CNW/ - The Team Canada Boston Marathon Brunch is pleased to announce 2013 marathon record holder Lanni Marchant will be dining with her fellow Canucks' to provide last-minute training advice, photos and autographs for all attendees.   Ms. Marchant broke the 28 year old women's marathon record last fall at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, catapulting her quickly among the all-time great endurance athletes in Canadian Sports history.

"I am really excited to not only run Boston for the first time - I also want to meet the hard working runners from across Canada who have trained through the worst winter possible.", says Marchant.

Lanni is entered to run Boston for the first time. Having recently broken the Canadian Half Marathon record in her pre-race training, she has the potential to be a top ten finisher at Boston.

With less than one week to go, the 13th edition of the Brunch sees Porter Airlines return as Title Sponsor for the 5th straight year, providing free flights to the popular 'Predict Your Time' contest winners.  Canadians from coast to coast choose from three seatings, including an all-you-can-eat buffet, prizes and entertainment for runners and their entourage.  Other sponsors include the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon , the Canadian Consulate in Boston and MyNextRace.com, Canada's Best Race and Events Calendar.

The Brunch takes place on Sunday April 20th morning at Vlora Restaurant (owned by a Canadian naturally!), 300 yards from the Finish Line on Boylston Street and registration is available online at www.bostonteaparty.ca.
